Oh well Coffee is out, now back to chasing everything but Goose island. At least we all have the Government Cheese line to wait in now that we spent all our cash.

So anyways.... Sweet Repute just hit Chicago...

Its Breakfast stout aged in BCBS barrels ... I am convinced. At least that is how perfect this beer tastes.
Last years coffee bcbs had very, very little coffee flavor to me. Like I said this tastes like fresh breakfast stout.

Proprietors Coconut? Ummmm, wheres the coconut? Stone's coconut IPA had more coconut in it than this does. I got a little bit on the very first sip and smell, then the rest was like drinking BCBS with a year on it. More refined tasting than regular is right after bottling, but certainly not worth the insane hype it's had. Wish I would have grabbed another bottle or 2 just to trade for some coffee.

Did you miss it or just trying to start shit?

The sense of entitlement some people have kills me.

    "I deserve more!"

    Um, why?

It seems that the general consensus is that this year coffee is by far better than any other. Hopefully, they will make this one again and not try a different bean, as they seem to do every year. And, of course, MAKE MORE.

Jay's currently recruiting the people in the BCBCS lines, because those lines are about as impregnable as the bears defensive line.

I have heard that alotof it went to New Mexico of all places.... most stores in new Mexico were offering two 4pk limit. And for "non chicago" Illinois BA's like myself it was a single 12oz bottle limit at every bottle shop I visited. This makes no sense! WTF Goose Island?

Wish we new the numbers of how much year round GI stuff is sold in different places. Then we might have some answers for all the strange distribution. Still though, I find it odd that people in Chicago area would have trouble finding BC releases. And I'm sure I'll be bitching about how much Michigan gets once KBS rolls around.

Maybe it has more to do with Demand, rather than Supply???

Yea I would love to know why Chicago seemingly got no more of the variants than any other city?

Why am I seeing post after post, from people from outside the midwest, with 4-packs of coffee?

Shouldn't people in Chicago/Illinois have the easiest time finding this beer? It seems that's the opposite of true.

Only time I've seen ANY variant in a store this year was after standing in line for hours before the store opened and then being allowed one bottle. I'm hearing people in other states simply strolling in their local store and picking up some variants; heck can we even just get some individual 12oz'ers?

    Flame me!...Feel free.

Chicago is an established market. It's got one of the largest beer geek populations in America, let alone is the birth place of Goose Island. Goose Island will NEVER satisfy the Chicago market. Many factors there, growth of the beer community, recognition of their brand, etc. etc.

So to send "alotofit" to New Mexico (howevermuchthatis) makes perfect sense to me, from a business stand point. Hit the untapped market, give them the product they want, establish demand, move onto the next. Keep upping production with the hopes you will meet demand everywhere, and repeat next year. It's quite simple.

demand in chicago is insane -- you're kidding yourself if you think we were shortchanged. even the weather channel aired a piece on the release. and you wonder why it flew off shelves in chicago, its birthplace, as @MarcatGSB pointed out. area binny's stores will be turning away clueless BCS hunters until next year's release.

now with the annual proprietor's release, chicago gets its own variant. suppose it should come with a voucher for a girlfriend and a PS4 also. i say good riddance.

^^We don't need that coconut proprietors in Chicago. I'd rather have more coffee and barleywine.

The coconut was no better than regular BCBS, just very SLIGHTLY different.

Doesn't Founders do a ticketed release over 7 days or something now? What's the ratio of MI people to FIB's that get those tickets?
