Four Elf Party

Wouldn't it be awesome if DH just posted that they won't be selling any bottles at this release? You can only consume the beer on site.

Why don't we just pretend that we're not taking bottles home, and act surprised when DH offers to let us buy them. Everyone would then be able to just enjoy the "PARTY".

This is a MICHIGAN craft beer release. Let's stop acting like we live in Illinois!!!

 

I'd like to reiterate that you don't have to stand in line waiting to pick up your bottles. Last year I wasted far too much time in line, and although I still had a good time, I would have been better off partying my face off else where. This year's setup is a little different with turning in your orders in the morning, but still just trying to give a heads up to the new kids Last year showing up around 11:00 got me number ~330, this is low enough to get almost everything being released this year if everyone buys there full allotment. You can adjust accordingly for 1 year difference in this beer game, just wanted to air the facts from last year.

 

I met some great folks last year in line. Decided to meet up with those same folks for a bottle share in line this year. I never buy my full allotment, so getting shut out of the bottles is not my concern. That being said, I'm currently hiding out in the DH bathroom until Saturday morning.

 

Good choice. Lots of room to spread out in there.

Who ever is going to the 4elf party you will miss out on Bourbon Barrel 4th Dimensia at Kunhein's(sp?) Winter Solstice Party, people were already seen camping out in line there. LOL

 

I'm not camping out, I live in their parking lot. But thanks for noticing.

 

Still waiting patiently for details on the anniversary beer and the prices/limits on a couple others. They did mention on FB that this info would come out before the event, I'm starting to think they mean Friday night.

 

I think lining up early your all freaking nuts its a party and plenty of beers to go around awesome food great people will be showing up all day! Screw that early bird FIB shit......
Not one person that asked around last year that i know of wasn't at least able to get something from someone with a full allotment hell I even gave part of mine to a few guys that got shut out plenty to share just ask around. Enjoy the reason for the party!

Any list yet as to what people are bringing to trade or what they are bringing for the bottle share the night before?

 

Anyone here stayed at Howard's Motel before? Also curious to hear if you've heard of the king suite room at Howard's? It's a room with a king bed and a full bed supposedly but I can't find anything about the price or pictures? Hmmmm

 

You mean the Bates Motel? Howard is cheap and you get a bed. Last year we grabbed a double double so can't comment on the "King's Suite". Nobody got bit by bedbugs, despite being concerned about it...

 

Haha none of the reviews mention anything about bed bugs so I'm not concerned there. It's actually pretty highly rated on just about every hotel rating site.

You'll be OK, and maybe even happy once you get your expectations in line. I've seen the reviews you speak of, and there are either heavily factoring in the dirt cheap price or those people are crazy. However, the reality is you don't need a nice hotel room after a party like this one.

 

Im from up north. It takes me 4-5 hours to get to Darkhorse.
Im driving down Friday afternoon to catch a Grateful Dead cover band in Detroit.
After the show im gonna drive the hour and a half to Marshall to get in line.
Then, wait for a few hours drinking hetty brews until i get my beer.
After that, i drive back up north (4-5 hours).

Its gonna be a rough one but im dedicated.
