We need breweries like Rogue, NB, SN, etc. to keep doing what their doing to get handcrafted ale on store shelves and on tap lines. These guys have amazing distribution, so when BMC reps go into stores they can't put their crap up because ole NB or SN already has that shelf space occupied...Let these huge craft breweries fight on the front lines with their good (Some amazing) beers so small microbreweries can continue the fight locally!

Peace Tree in Iowa. Used to be a good regional beer, but it's played it safe with their styles and is WAY behind breweries like Great River, Millstream, (and especially) Toppling Goliath.

Probably have to say the alchemist their DIPA is really good but their gluten free beer blows they are so arrogant to think making one beer in a ridiculously small distro is acceptable in 2013 oh and it tastes like aluminum out of the can too get an effin bottling line

One of our local beers, Palmetto. They have a great espresso porter they do with the Charleston Coffee Roasters, but they hardly do anything else fun or new. I think once they did a beer with Ghost peppers, but nothing else that I've noticed.

The Milk Stout is exceptional, Sawtooth is decent, and the rest is just kinda meh at best, IMO.

For starters, they need to dump Blackjack Porter and replace it with their Beer Week Sauce Coffee Porter instead.

Arbor Brewing Company in Ann arbor. They are local and I would love to support them but nothing they make excites me. Their locations are great but the beer is mediocre.

Lol - I really disagree. No one could be behind Millstream. Also, Peace tree just released its red rambler aged for 12 months in Templeton barrels and has made some awesome American ipas (finally) this year. Great River is ok but seems to get infected cans somewhat frequently.

I think Millstream and Great River should step it up, but I agree that Toppling Goliath is way ahead. Awesome work by those guys.

There's a brewery in Katy,TX called "No Label". I believe the community supports them because the demographic of Katy is made up of baby boomer suburbanites who are relatively new to craft beer and what it has to offer. Hats off to them for finding a niche market but their beers are the epitome of average. I work in grocery stores all over Houston and it's next to impossible to find their product on a display outside of Katy. With a plethora of breweries coming up in Houston/Texas (Karbach, Buffalo Bayou, Saint Arnold, 8th Wonder, Jester King, etc) and not to mention the number of awesome breweries gaining distribution here, they need to get some decent beer on the shelves or I think they'll be in trouble..

Totally agree with New Belgium. I live in Fort Collins and drink a lot of their beer cause it's everywhere here and normally I'm disappointed besides the sours. Some of the new ones I've had are flat out awful.

This, definitely. Dayman was pretty close, but they ought to pick one or two of these "special" recipes and keep making it. I don't know why they keep putting out these mediocre one-offs.

    Surly.

They really need another two or three beers on their main line that are not IPAs or are a variation Bender. Hell is so meh, and Cynic I think would do better as summer release. Gimme' something new Surly. They could start by canning Damien.

The new beers like Buzzsaw and Mr. Delicious are good. The sours are very good, and they now have a tap dedicated to a sour/wild beer at the Corner.
The old beers are from the 90s, but they sell all they can make.

The Corner has new/more equipement, which will expand production. I heard they are getting a basic QC lab soon. Those things help a brewery step it up.

A local brewery named Greenport Harbor on Long Island. I've been drinking their stuff since they opened 4 years ago and while they have a solid selection, they really need to step it up in terms of creativity and overall quality of the beer to compete and embrace the craft beer renaissance that is happening right now or they will get left behind.

I agree, though I do enjoy Hell from time to time. I just couldn't decide if my opinion was based more on what styles they brew rather than the overall quality. I tend not to enjoy hoppier beers, so I can only silently accept that Furious, Abrasive, and Overrated are great beers. I can't appreciate them. I wish their mainline brews had a wider variety of stuff that I'd enjoy drinking (though I'm perfectly happy with Cynic being a year round brew, if you take that away I don't have much from Surly year round to drink besides Bender).

I'm interested in their special releases, but they're just so friggin pricey that I seldom buy one.

I'm not saying they need to step up, but their mainline brews aren't much to my taste. Which is a different point.
