When I had a bottle of this around six months ago, I had to drain pour it. Maybe with six more months of tasting hops I may be able to find something to like in it this time around, but I doubt I'll bother. I had to force myself to finish the first pour and at that price I can get a number of better beers in a 4/6 pack for cheaper.

So sticky sweet. Big, resounding "meh".

I will give this a shot, but probably just a 1 bottle. I've been resolute in trying everything Fred makes lately. It's just that Every 3x IPA I have just leaves me more confused. Oh well. Beer.

Can't leave thread without typing Gangster Frog!!

I've always wondered if it was worth the $15.00.

Its ok. Not worth the price but worth a try.

Dont waste your time. This beer is not worth the money. Hoppin Frog should focus on their stouts instead of their IPA's. Their stouts are far better than anything else they produce.

Had it before a few times.....it's an ok "Triple" IPA.....ditto the sentiment that HF does stouts far better!

Their Mean Manalishi DIPA is listed at 168 IBU's....come on, the human palate can not even discern bitterness units much past 100 IBU's!!

Not worth the price, IMO.....you can get 6 pks of DIPA's which are just as, or more, tasty, than this....you know.....72 ounces of beer, versus 22 oz bomber

Hoppin' Frog = good hoppy beer, outrageously overpriced.

For exemple Mikkeller 1000 IBU and Mikkeller 1000 IBU Ultramate. The latter is way more bitter. I am not sure, but I think, that when you have a really big malty beer, then add IBUs from 100 to 500, and you really taste the difference. But when you have 4,5 % APA, then it makes no difference to add IBU's like that.

Btw. Has Hoppin Frog released Fresh Raw Hop Imperial Pale Ale this or last year. Haven't seen it for a long time in Europa. It is sad, because I really liked it when I had it for a long time ago. Any info about that beer? I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks.

Gangster Frog with citra hops is awesome! And I'm not a hop guy. It was only like $7. Not expensive at all. Their fresh raw hop frog was decent as well. Just had it about a month or so ago.

Keep in mind your $7 most likely bought you a bottle in Ohio.
    Not everyone lives in Ohio.

I love Oskar Blues Ten-Fidy and I've heard you can find in for $8-9/4pk in Colorado.
But here in SE PA, you aren't going to find it for less than $14/4-pk.
Needless to say I don't buy much Ten-Fidy.

Last I had that Fresh Raw Hop was at the brewery. I was told then that it was brewery only, both on tap and in the bottle. I believe this was about two months ago. I also really liked it.

Hoppin' Frog really does make some good hoppy beers, but like the previous poster said, it's hard to justify the prices for their beers when bought outside of Ohio.

Don't buy it, no matter how good it is! It is way over priced. Vote with your wallet because no one listens to your voice. Places like Hoppin' Frog will burst the beer bubble when price and demand get out of whack. Their stuff is good, but the price is crazy out of control!

I love a lot of their beers but their prices limit me buying them to only 2-3 times a year. Even at the brewery it's just as expensive.

The only hf brew I've tried was ba boris and I thought it was pretty damn good. That being said I don't buy their $10+ bombers because around here there's too many good local options at the same price point; spiteful, pipeworks, revolution etc, I'd rather spend my money on.

Such a big price from such a little guy . I will continue to buy what I like from them, but yeah, I only buy 2-3 things a month b/c of price.

Thanks a lot for the reply!!

Not nice, if they don't get wider distribution anymore.

I can get Hoppin Frog bottles pretty much at same prices as other bombers from the States, like Southern Tier. Just bought their Sweet Evil, it was a bit more expensive though.

In some reason, we haven't seen it in Europa. It is weird, because we can get Karminator for instance.

I would really like to taste it as well as Naked Evil.
