BCBS Variants in San Diego

For the brewery hating cheapasses...sure.

 

Just found the BCBS Backyard Rye in San Diego. Has anyone seen the Barley wine?

 

Where did you see Backyard Rye?

A few scattered bevmos had barleywine but they are sold out now.

 

Grove Liquor. Not likely they still have any left though...

 

There is a little market by my condo on 30th St before you get to Broadway called Miller's Market. He has the base, and BW as of Thursday afternoon. He will be getting the coffee next week. It's not usually a place that sells that much craft beer (mini Mexican Market), but the guy tries to get everything for me. Super chill cat. I believe he has two cases of each right now. I'd assume there is still some left because most people that go in there head straight for the tallboys..

You might have to ask them for it, because I don't think he is putting it out on the shelf..

Where did you find the Rye?

 

Grove Liquor in Lemon Grove. Its on Broadway. They had it on the shelf yesterday, but didn't have much left. Thanks for the heads up! Always appreciate BAs who don't feel it's necessary to keep info classified.

 

Yes, damn those people for wanting to actually have a chance to purchase a limited beer and/or quietly notify friends something is available, rather than have the shelf emptied by others who are just trying to hoard trade bait.

 

With all the complaints I've heard about the way the GI BC stuff is being distributed, I'm wondering if this is almost a suckers' chace and will see a bunch more later on.

I can dream.

 

This is getting annoying.. the minute you hear about a certain place has any of the variants it is most likely gone..I'm just going trade for some make easier tired of wasting time, energy, gas for the beer..

 

I am curious if this is similarly going on in other parts of the country, or if there are actual places where these beers are just sitting on shelves.

 

I know even in chicago....my trade partner had hard time getting the Coffee variant..but he got me a Prop go figure..and some liquor stores are doing the whole 1 bottle thing also charging anywhere from $8 to $15

 

Went in a couple hours ago. One bottle limit for either. And $10! I still got it, cause it was already in my hands and I haven't seen it anywhere else, but geez...

 

BevMo Mission Valley still had at least 2 cases of regular last night at a 1 4-pack limit for $23.99. Asked about variants and they said they wouldn't be getting any.

 

Mission Valley North had BW, but no Coffee.

 

Not a variant, but regular is available on draft at the Lumberyard in Encinitas. Pricy at $12.50/10oz, but a chance to try it none the less.

 

I love that this hasn't been updated in 6 days. Awesome. No love for San Diego? Backyard Rye?? Nothing?

 

People in San Diego have their private info networks, and even when stuff shows up here it has been on those private networks for at least 6 hours and that info is probably old.

Go to any of the shit storms up in Alpine and you'll see the reason for this. You probably need to get in a network.
