Just want to say I love regular Bender. Better than both variants, IMO.

I snagged a Surly Smoke as well and it looks like it should have made the rounds everywhere by the end of this week. But that's not why you called...Darkness is apparently hitting Chicagoland as early as next week. So gas up your cars and turn on the heaters. Last I heard 460 cases are coming for the Surly footprint in Chicagoland. I've not heard what the price will be yet or I'd pass it along.

I apologize to all the folks in Minnesota and the ones that made the cold trip to Surly. I realize this crushes your trade values. If you only bought the beer to trade, you better put up those ISO:FT posts before this news circulates. If you don't, it'll get all sorts of FIBby by next weekend I can only imagine.

I'm curious, what does FIB means? I have an idea what. I've been seeing quite a bit. Thanks.

Not sure if you are being a dick or not, but will assume you are posting with good intentions. Clearly you have not been to Darkness Day, as it is more about the event / bottle share rather than just buying bottles for consumption or trade.

Why would you apologize? Like Ryan said, it's about a lot more than grabbing bottles, and you get at least 6 of them. Down here, it'll be limit 1 all over the city. It's still a very limited beer either way. Crushing trade values? Please.

I don't doubt any of that but I'm sure plenty of folks buy their allotment assuming they'll use part of it for trades. I think they allowed folks at least half a case. Don't know many people that drink that much Darkness. I'm mainly commenting how a ridiculous amount of people will drive around Chicagoland buying up Darkness and flooding the trade forums. It is not intended as a shot at anyone who went to Darkness Day unless you just went for the trade value.

After the BCBS rush, it'll seem like nothing.

Will be $20-25 per bottle. Was $20 per bottle at Darkness day.

well that only confirms it for me even more. i knew darkness was coming to chicago, i wasn't quite sure if it was only kegs (like it was then) but seeing as other folks have heard of bottles coming in, it makes me happy. i had darkness for the first time this year with my tasting group and i really enjoyed it 'fresh'.

I can't echo this enough. Been going to Darkness Day for a few years now and I've always had an amazing time. Even if Chicago starts getting Darkness bottles/kegs every year now, I will still make the trip to Darkness Day. I've met some awesome people every year, some that I've stayed in contact with and even trade with. I wouldn't change those experiences for anything.

So basically every definition contradicts one another in terms of we drive way too fast or way too slow. Pick a lane, Wisconsinites.

What WI people don't understand is that the speed limit on 294 is actually 90mph, and if you use your turn signal, that's a surefire way to get your lane changed blocked by a fellow FIB.
