OP, I have had it, and as said before in this thread, it is good, but not crazy amazing. It's all about bottle numbers here and the craze that is the Chicago beer scene. When you start having 60 yr old couples in line who are saying this or that bottle is worth $100 or $200, and they will flip it I the parking lot, there is a problem. My buddy witnessed this exact thing happen. Anyway, unless you are a major ticker, who just can't stand not trying it, it's not worth the ammo. I also whole heartedly disagree that it is better than even reg BCBS, but it is different.

 

How much was the each bottle upon release?

 

Instead of being a dbag, Ill say while I disagree with your opinion, that's fine if you get a bottle of it, ill take it off your hands for bcbs! Promise, ill even go over $4 $ which should be cool for you!

How so, if I like my beer and its not for trade, why am I pushing the hype when I talk about it in a positive way? The beer is worth way more to me in my hands than it is on the trade block, hence my it would take a lot to get one off me. Thats just me. I'm not squeezing anybody, nor did I ever offer mine, but thank you for the helpful post! Anybody else mad I like my beer? When I offer it ft looking for don q, then please talk shit as I would deserve it.

 

A contrasting viewpoint: I've had Cthulhu several times, and while it's very good beer, I wouldn't trade BCBS for it, let alone Rare.

 

@RobotScott and I tried Cthulhu next to Velvet Merkin. We drain poured the VM and I just gave my 2nd bottle of VM as an extra.

The Cthulhu may very well be the best beer I've ever had.

FWIW, I just traded a Rare for a Cthulhu and Propietors. Having had plenty of Rare, I feel quite happy with this swap, as I assume my trading partner does too.

 

I traded mine for murda'd out to A friend, who had a few murda'd out's. Even after telling him that it's good just not mind blowing. He was happy to complete his 25th anniversary set.

Like most people in this thread I think its good just not great. I also think its Pass/Fall bottled as a different name
