FUN 008 Fra Gee Lay

I know of 2 Spec's in Houston that have 007 laying around right now.

 

I bought one, reluctantly. I'll drink it this weekend.

 

So which Spec's still has some? I need to point someone in that direction who is driving up from Galveston to Austin so I can get some of this stuff today...

007 or 008....

 

008 is everywhere. Should be no trouble trouble to find. Hubbell & Hudson in the Woodlands has 007,just have to ask for it.

And, apparently my friend has not been able to find that 008 at the places he went to in Houston yet. No idea why...but any place you know for sure that would have it?

 

I would try Whole Foods Montrose (on Waugh) for 008.

 

Friendswood Shell on FM 528 just posted they have more 008.

I don't know where else to state this, but I need to say it somewhere...

I am 1/2 way through a bottle of cherries of fire right now, and I am downright blown away... I was very underwhelmed about this beer when I had my first bottle shortly after it was released, and was rather disappointed I spend $75 buying 5.... however, this bottle I am enjoying right now has that cherry flavor I was completely lacking the first time around...

don't know if it was an "off" first bottle, or if the few months at 55F have changed it that much... but damn....this is what I thought it would be when it came out..; bourbon, sweet cherries, and a tart finish... beautiful.

anyone else opened a bottle lately so I confirm whether or not I have lost my mind?

 

I've been smitten with this beer every time I've had it. Still got 2 bottles, I should pop one soon.

 

008 is nothing compared to 002, I hardly got any barrel out of this at all - Huge disappointment for me.

 

Was looking around College Station and got the last one at the Villa Maria HEB. There may still be some at the HWY 6/Wm D Fitch HEB, but I didn't look. The Spec's was sold out as well.

Again, because Fra-Gee-Lay related(!), if anyone still has an extra 002 (or 001!) I will try to make a trade or purchase for it. Just BM me and let me know. Thanks!

Last saw one at heb on 18th in the heights. 007 that is. Pretty unpopular location so there may be some left.

 

Had 008 on tap at Gordon street last night. I liked it. Not a huge barrel presence but that also kept it from being too hot like many bourbon beers can be. I'll probably pick up one more bottle.
