It's gotten pretty ridiculous trying to find PtE. Just a couple years ago I could give you 2-3 places that more or less always had it on the shelf. These days, the places around Sac that get it don't put it on the shelves anymore, and they still run out within a day or two. Seems to be true in the Bay Area these days, too. I go to Berkeley pretty regularly, and Ledger's Liquor *always* had Pliny till about a year ago. I haven't been able to get a bottle there in months.

In Sac, Taylor's Market gets it, but you have to ask. Same with Davis Beer Shoppe and Nugget Market in Davis. (The Davis Co-op hasn't had any in a long, long time.) If there's a regular delivery schedule, I haven't been able to figure it out. I just ask when I'm in those places, and I get lucky every so often.

Needless to say, you can always head over the Santa Rosa and get as much as you want. I usually wind up heading out there about 4-5 times a year, and between those visits and the occasional score at DBS, I get my Pliny on with an acceptable regularity.

My source got their two cases this morning, so you might want to check your potential stores that carry. Remember, you have to ask for it.

You have to know what store gets it on what day. Then go to that store on that day and ask for it specifically.

I've found it a few places in the Bay. Just has to be on the day they get it, and ask for it by name. Helps to leave work a little early to get there before the after-work crowd does.

Or have someone in SR go to RRB all week and grab you 6ers, and then on the weekend leave there with 30 of em.

And like I said previously, RRB is short on Pliny right now. So some places aren't getting any-period, and most shipments are cut in half.

If you would have clicked the link, you would have seen it's a list of ALL the Stores that RR is distributed to in Sacramento.

So yeah, it's not just a store that carries it BUT ALL the stores that carry it in that area.

I get it at Toronado if I want it. $6 plus tip for a pint isn't too much more than $6 plus tax for 500mL, and is a damn deal considering how much easier it is to get there. Though to be honest, it's actually so easy to get it there that I generally overlook it...

Ditto (though that is O'Brien's just as much in my case).

There was a TON of it in Orange County this week. Saw like 10 different stores post about it on FB. Blind Pig too.

Blind Pig, Toronado, DirtWolf. Are these available in the Sacramento area? The thread started out asking about PtE in Excramento...I mean Sacramento!

Just add liquor stores on instagram and they'll post when they get it. You just have to be quick to get to them. Down here in SoCal, its been pretty easy for me to get a bottle of Pliny.

Was originally going to say Toronado/Hamiltons/O'Briens, but decided to reduce it to my main spot for the the purpose of brevity. Then I posted this, cause I stopped caring about brevity.

True. But WTF did they not put "Sacramento" in the title of the thread?

No kidding!! OR, how about the OP checking back in on it once in a while? Posted a couple times and POOF...I was going to offer him a bottle, but not sure he's into the forum thing. Might drink the chit myself and wonder why I buy it...
So, how are those three I asked about? If they are in SoCal, then maybe I can find them up north. Worth looking for?

San Diego also saw a decent amount of PtE and BP this week. I don't normally see too much BP around here…RR must have sent a decent sized Santa shipment to SoCal before the holidays.

This is a little off topic, but does RR bottle Row 2, Hill 56? If so, do they distribute it in SoCal?

Its fairly easy to get here in Los Angeles. Just learn what day your liquor store (well, one that actually gets Pliny) their Stone delivery and go and ask them if they got it. They don't get Pliny every week but within a month they should get it at least once or twice.

Total will occasionally have it (once a month) same with Whole foods, Bevmo doesnt carry it. If you go to bars like burgers & brews or Flaming Grille they usually have it on tap. To be honest - its almost easier to just drive to Santa Rosa and pick up what you want from the brewery itself. Its only an hour or so away from Sac.
