Four Elf Party

I love the fact that the order for anyone to get their beer is controlled by THEMSELF. Not some online website that may or may not fail, not any other online or in person pre-sale, just show up when you feel it is worth it and get your beer. Your spot in line is in your control. Perhaps I will feel that waiting outside around 9pm isn't worth it. However, I'm happier knowing that the people who WAIT, get their beer; not the people whose internet works best, or the highest bidder on Ebay winning someone else's ticket that they auction off. I like the system. I think it could be improved, I think DH did a decent job, but I can only speak for what I saw. It was the best time I had being miserable, if that makes sense.

 

I see where you are coming from.
I think Dark Horse needs to do some work next year if they plan on keeping things the same.
The crowd rushing that ensued at 6:00 wasn't necessary and shut out many people who showed up early while people that showed up half hour before got their full allotment.

 

Your current lack of Jesus beard may hamper your peace making skills, but the Mad Max Thunderdome area definitely could've used a MarKitty touch around 3 AM. Also, those that were in control of the DH provided firepit in the back forty should sharpen their axe and fire starting skills for next year. Although I do think that I saw Tupac from the California Love video at some point in all the smoke.

 

Hope not... I like this event, Line up bottle share and all. It makes the ones that put the work into getting there early and freezing there arses off able to get the specialty beer. To me that's better than relying on a website that will definitely bomb out and screw many people over anyway.
Unfortunately, I do see how this will have to happen sooner or later. The earlier and earlier people get there, will force people to show up...the day before? Yeah, so I guess it will have to happen some day. At least I got to enjoy it once, just like KBS day, I enjoyed the last one!

 

I was at around number 129 and didn't see any of this happen, did this happen further back in the line? Seemed pretty organized and people seemed pretty thoughtful. Maybe I missed this happening though?

 

Only 500 ish showed up how is that going to crash a website

 

Maybe have the Beer Garten fence close at 5am to make everyone after that go around the back to the area behind the production building. That's where I was at 4:45 then as the tents, chairs & shanties were getting packed up and the line started shrinking into an actual line I ended up back near the fence where the line looped. As I was standing there for several minutes there were probably 15 people that had come in around 6am & tried to get in line there. Not sure if it was on purpose or just not understanding that the line looped aropund but someone next to me let them know to keep moving

 

Ummm... because they didn't want to brave the weather? So maybe 1000 would try from their couches? Plus then people could get on the site from half way across the country just thinking the MIGHT be making the trip and then not go... Like I said though, sooner or later it will have to go the ticket rout, just hope it's later rather than sooner.

Was it confirmed that only 500 showed up? I kinda think that # is a little thin...

Good times. The mad rush at 6 was the only downside as I went from #200 to #244 in line due to dbag cutters. And DH made a great sour this year. And what about that bacon randall? Props for creativity but couldn't handle more than a few sips.

 

Please explain why anyone NEEDS 2 cases

 

I had a wonderful time, so how did I do anything wrong??? Shared two of my favorite beers, (Sorry I can't afford the big boys right now) and had some wonderful ones shared to me as well. How I "Enjoy" it is up to me within the rules which I strictly followed. Maybe you can tell me how to "Enjoy" the rest of my life as well?

Wow, the party is over and people are still chippy and sarcastic... Much different than last year? I enjoyed myself and hope the rest did as well. That is all...

 

Because it is my number 1, favorite beer of all so far.

 

Because I want to enjoy this beer more than 24 times this year. Or because I have at least 6 friends that will be happy with a 4 pack from Santa.

I also have more t-shirts than I need, is there a problem?
