I'm in CT, so the weather is pretty similar. We're either going up to VT or ME unless a storm rolls through (always a possibility). Hopefully, if it continues to be a relatively snowy winter up here, we may have fewer people up there for beer.

Supposedly I posted in this thread already, so I had to go back and read what I wrote.

Last winter was the Florida trip...this fall I took a 5 day trip out to Toronto to visit their exploding beer scene, which was well worth it. Great stops at Bellwoods, Bar Volo, Bar Hop, Indie Ale House, etc etc.
When I got back from there, hopped in the car with a few buddies and we hit 35 breweries in Michigan's LP over the course of 6 days...not a warm weather vacation by any means, but it was a beercation, and a business trip.
Going where your palate takes it is the only way to navigate a 4,000 lb piece of metal.

Every summer we camp for a week in Colorado. Needless to say, the beer is the topping on the cake.

Not yet, but I am hoping to head out to CA this year with the wife. She wants to see some the great American landmarks on the way there and I want to 3-4 days of beer hunting and brewery visiting. Depends on finanace if we go or not.

Right now, a trip to the San Francisco area is the leading contender for our honeymoon in the coming year (probably early summer) While there's plenty to do there unrelated to beer, trips to Bear Republic and Russian River are factoring high into the decision.

Vacationed in Vermont for Lawson's Double Sunshine, HF Susan, and then the release of Damon. Three of the best trips I've taken.

I would only do it if there were other interests in the area worth visiting. I love beer, but vacations are expensive and going "only" for the beer hardly seems worth it to me.

Try both... where you vacation and where the good beer is

If it is possible to imagine, I actually wrapped "business" around a flight into Munich...

A contractor I work with is located in Healdsburg, CA, so several times a year I am paid to fly to SF and have lunch at Bear Republic and dinner at Russian River. Gotta love taking a growler of Pliny or Row 2 home on the red-eye. Believe it or not, I'm thinking about quitting this job, but only so that I can go live in Portland and be surrounded by amazing beer at all times.

    The wife supports this decision.

Took an anniversary weekend to Austin to check out Jester King brewery. Was well worth it.

Absolutely- of course there's always other things we do besides go to brewpubs.

PA Tour #1 2009- Bullfrog, Victory, Capones, Iron Hill in Lancaster, Appalachian (Gettysburg). Combined with state parks/Gettysburg/valley forge

PA Tour #2 2010- Selins Grove, Elk Creek, Zeno's, Ottos

2011 Columbus/Michigan- Dark Horse, Columbus, Barleys

Also made an absolute point to stop at FiftyFifty and Russian River on our honeymoon. It was more crucial than seeing the grand canyon

Hoping to hit Three Floyds the weekend after XMas for my Christmas present from my husband.

We might do the Vermont/Maine thing this summer.

Going to hit Ommegang and a bunch of upstate NY places this fall on a trip to the finger lakes.

Go to Vermont and see the beautiful mountains or if the weather sucks do something else touristy. It will be totally worth the trip!

It was a little more expensive, but a lot more fun than spending ~$60 to buy a bottle off the web.

I've done the Vt thing twice and will again this spring when Alchemist reopened to the public. For a hop head it's heaven.

Yes! We just spent the weekend in Columbus and checked out a total of 35 drafts, and brought many more bottles than that home. It was a great time, and beer nerds are such fun people to encounter. Got a lot of great suggestions and samples while there. We're also planning a trip to Burlington, VT in order to enjoy the great breweries in the area.
