Now we need to determine the amount of Munich Malt.

Because Munich is technically a base malt, I expanded the range in the poll to 20%. If you want more than 20%, write it in.

When this poll is done, I will look at the data a few different ways to determine the central tendency. It may or may not be as simple as a plurality would indicate. There may or may not be a runoff. It all depends on the data.

This poll will be open for 36 hours.

(For those who don't know what I'm talking about, see this thread about the first beer we did (and the
bazillion ensuing polls and the final recipes)...http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/the-averagely-perfect-american-ipa-project.59552/

If you have issues with or suggestions for methodologies used in this project, please Beer Mail me. Let's keep the threads themselves on topic to the question at hand (not about how you would have asked the question differently). Thanks!

As this is supposed to be a stout, I certainly hope the final recipe comes out "malty", as opposed to hoppy (or salty)...

I went with 20%. What color Munich are we talking about? I have Weyermann 6L Munich, but I have seen mention of 20L Munich.

The Munich in my mind when it was in the original grain poll was 8-10L. I'm inclined to not specify the precise color in the recipe and leave it up to brewer discretion, unless a lot of people want to go through a poll for that.

I think the Am. 2-row base could benefit from a small amount of a more interesting base malt, but I don't think an American Stout should be a (non-roast) malt bomb. 6%.

There is only one clear answer...and one alone...20%. Vote accordingly.

hmm.. I've used mucho munich in a stout before, so so, wasn't thrilled with it. But I do think it will contribute nicely, Munich is a great malt so I went with 14%, only because 15% wasn't available.
