Does anyone know if the new batch of Bourbonic Plague will be on-sale on the website?

I hope so. I check it daily and I have been anxiously awaiting Manhattan NW and Tangerine Dream but no dice.

According to Cascade it will go for sale online (not Manhattan or Tangerine though)...that said, it's been delayed so many times I'm not sure what exactly is going on.

You need to speak up more Josh. I've been by the barrel house several times over the past few months, grabbing bottles of TD and Manhattan for some of my "cronies" back East. Would have been no problem to pick up a bottle or two for you as well.

Shoot me a beer mail if you still want some (I'll be up in PDX this weekend).

I'm going to Portland on the 25th, happy to grab some bottles for you and bring them back up.

I know, thanks John but I don't want to be demanding or needy. You're already a great mule. I don't you to be overworked. BM sent.

Quick update on this one that bottles will be available starting Thursday on-site only.

Additionally, I found this interesting - the heavily talked about pricing structure at Cascade is creating quite the backlog in bottled offerings that are not moving as swiftly as anticipated:

    'Also available in-house is The Vine 2012 ($20), Vlad the Imp Aler 2011 ($30, 4 bottle limit), Blueberry 2012 ($20), Strawberry 2012 ($20), Apricot 2012 ($20), Figaro 2012 ($25, 4 bottle limit), Kriek 2012 ($20), Elderberry 2012 ($20, 4 bottle limit), Pumpkin Smash 2011 ($30, 4 bottle limit), Tangerine Dream 2011 ($30, 4 bottle limit), Gose 2012 ($15) and Sang Noir 2012 ($25, 4 bottle limit).'

That's a long list that appears to be getting longer every month.

I was down there with my wife the other weekend and saw the massive glut of bottles in the fridge. Also, my wife was floored at their prices and openly commented on them. The gal tending bar just stared at the ground.

Yep, the pricing structure is why I haven't purchased a bottle of Cascade for myself in a long time. That being said, I will get a Bourbonic Plague for myself.

It's hard to justify dropping $30 on a bottle of cascade when I can get higher quality beers for $10-20 less.

I await their first $50 bottle. You know it's coming.

Isn't it still on tap at the barrel house? I like the beer, but I'm not sure I could down an entire bottle at a sitting. The current version is a bit more sour than past versions (IMHO), and I find that that hurts it's drinkability a bit. At least that's the case for me, so I'll continue ordering it by the glass at the barrel house (where it's plenty expensvie enough).

How about a side bet on who offers the first $50 bottle: Cascade, The Bruery, or Lost Abbey?

Yeah, I'm not too crazy for this batch. Lots more vinegar.

So, we're ignoring the breweries who already have sold $50 bottles?

Actually, didn't the Lost Abbey Track Series beers already exceed this, when normalized to 750ml?

I love visiting Cascade, and would happily drink them regularly on draft. Spending $7-$8 at a time on a glass is fine by me, and I love that they have a nice range of rotating sour options. But yeah, bottles cost too much. When I specifically want to drink Cascade, the bottles cost so much I don't want to buy them, and when I want to buy a nice, spendy bottle of beer, it's unlikely to be Cascade.

Last time we were at the Barrel House, it went something like this.
My wife: "Wow, this Pumpkin Smash is amazing! Best pumpkin beer I've ever had! Does it come in bottles?"
    Me: "Yes ..."
Wife: "We're going to that Thanksgiving Party, this would be perfect to share with everybody!"
Me: "I agree, this would be a perfect beer for that."
Wife: "Let's get a bottle. I love this!"
    Me: "It's $30."
Wife: "You're f***ing kidding me." [We left without any bottles]

That is scarily close to the same conversation I had with the lady friend when we were down there a couple months back.

Beyond the pricing, what's up with the bottle limits months after the initial release? Then last month, they posted on FB that they had dropped the 4-bottle limit on Strawberry. Like that's going to help them sell more??? Cascade bottle sales have kind of become a joke.

    Allow me to rephrase:

How about a side bet: Which of the following 3 breweries will be the first to offer a $50 bottle: Cascade, The Bruery, or Lost Abbey?
