As for my post, Ridgeway liquors in Manchester (technically Plaza Wines) got a case each of Coffee, Barleywine, and Backyard Rye. $7 a pop for coffee and bw, $22 for the backyard. I just picked up one bottle each of the coffee and bw. I couldn't bring myself to buy for more than that. I'm hoping this settles my OCD some and I can focus a little on local/semi-local brews and easier to find stuff.

Buy rite on rt 72 in manahawkin got 1 case coffee, 2 case barleywine, 1 case rye.

THIS IS THE BIGGEST ACCT in my area, so finding a store that got more may not happen. IF youre in the area, jump on it, because theyre not beer savy there, and will probably be selling the coffee and barleywine 4 packs at about 23 bucks!

most other places will be selling singles, i would assume.

You'd be better off asking someone that works for Hunterdon, though that may even be tough to pin down.

 

Yeah, I hear NJ gets almost nothing so its almost impossible to get, but now that my wife supports this hobby, I'm going to try harder this year. Is Hunterdon the only distributor for Founders for the whole state? Still trying to figure out the best way to hunt stuff down.

 

Yeah they're the only one. Best bet is to find out the day your store(s) get deliveries.

 

Yep, find out what day your local stores get their Hunterdon deliveries and go from there. Sadly doesn't mean you'll get it even if you're there when it arrives. Plenty of stores play the 'not in the system' card and you'll never see it again.

 

My preferred local place's beer manager has told me (multiple times) that he doesn't sell enough Founders to have any chance of getting a case. I'm even just trying to figure out which stores I should be looking at possibly getting it.

 

See any Harvest ale at local stores? That's a pretty good indication of who will get some. Not everyone that gets Harvest gets KBS but it's closer than BWB which was pretty widespread. And of course any store that got Sweet Repute or Mango will.

 

Well that's discouraging. Haven't hit up every store in the county, but I haven't found one in Ocean County yet that has had Harvest or Sweet Repute. Finding BCBS is easier in NJ!

 

They price gouge a bit.

 

Well they definitely have it at the manahawkin buy rite. 1 four pack limit on coffee and barleywine and they let me have whatever of the backyard I wanted. I got two. Thanks for the heads up @Northlax3. I owe you one.

 

Can I ask what they charged you for a 4 pk.? Debating on whether I should make the trip.
