My dad was picking up beer from a distributor in Harrisburg, PA and was asking for DirtWolf. The distributor didn't have any and told him that Victory was having issues with Dirtwolf.

Anyone hear anything similar and/or confirm this?

I have heard a similar thing. My family owns a beer distributor and I've been told it's been hard to get because of the issues.

Heard the same from my victory wholesaler, they said next bottling date would be in February

As Ive noted before its more a juggle of brands and markets and making a very popular new beer that everyone seems to enjoy very much. :-)

The new brewery is online now in Parkesburg, and this has much greater capacity then Dtown. But the only bottling line Victory has is now being transported from Dtown and reassembled in Parkesburg. So there is a window where bottles had to be done in Dtown while new beer was being put in the tanks at Parkesburg, now in a few more weeks the bottling line will be running in Parkesburg. Meanwhile a whole new DIPA/IIPA was packaged for release later this week, you may have heard about it - Hop Ranch. Enjoy, and there will be much more good hoppy beers and new releases in the coming year. As for issues with DW, its just a hard beer to filter due to the extreme hop loads, but I expect the larger centrifuge in Parkesburg to take care of this.

You're welcome. BTW, I see you are in NC. I was just in Asheville and they had a few cases of fresh DW at Bruisin" ales. So some is trickling out but its limited right now.

Will NC ever see Baltic Thunder?

I would assume so, I also saw singles of Old Horizontal in the market. Email the regional sales rep for more info.

I just bought a 4 pack of Dirtwolf.today in Pittsburgh, with an enjoy by date in April 2014. I asked the shop owner and he said the second batch had issues, and this is the first wave of the "good 2nd batch"...

No where to be found in North NJ after the first batch.

Dunno if it hurt or helped it's reputation honestly.

was in the d-town brewery before christmas, had a DW and it was good. Only downside was that they wouldnt let me fill a growler with it. i guess with it being good and new they still have a limited supply, even at the brewery.

ended up filling the growler with a hoppy red, which was really good and not a part of the regular rotation.

as per the brewery rep in my territory.
Its clogging the filters they currently have due to the extreme amount of hops there are in the boil.

    It'll be fixed soon.

I've been getting it again for the past few weeks at Linwood Wines in Fort Lee- best by Apr. 27, 2014. I'm assuming it's from a subsequent batch, and it's still plenty tasty.

After 7 weeks on back order at my work and several people searching all over the tri state, I managed to track down a case which is hopefully on the way.

Stark's answer obviously makes a lot of sense, but the whole "too many hops clogging up the brewing" story sure does make for great marketing.

Victory only uses whole leaf hops and they like to clog things. Not surprised.

Does anyone know where they are in terms of their expansion?

Brewing is underway at the Parkesburg brewery. The bottling line at the Downingtown brewery has been transferred and re-installed at the Parkesburg facility with some bottling equipment upgrades. Once the bottling line is fully operational (which it is expected to be in about two weeks), the 250-bbl brewery will be in full production of all flagship beers.
