It's still banana, says it on the description on the back of bottle.

Edit: This was the description from the St. Pat's release earlier this year:
3/17 Bourbon Barrel French Toast – Wildflower Mead, aged in a Bourbon barrel, then it is flavored with bananas, hazelnuts, Maple syrup and spices. Tasty! $20 375ml

I have only heard occasionally people say banana french toast mead but have never seen it. I assume it was a variant one year. Just like this year is rye so not actually the same mead as before. Most of the time I have heard French Toast Mead called just French Toast Mead.

Any Kuhnhennisseurs out there that can clear this up? Was there a specific BBBanana FT Mead or is it just another name for this mead... BBFT?

So you are confirming that there was never a variant called banana FT?

The first release the mead was called BB Banana French Toast.
The second release the mead was called BB French Toast.
It was never a variant, it is the same mead with a different name.

They used to put Bourbon Barrel Banana French Toast on the label, but they changed it since it was so many words. It's the same stuff though. This one is the same mead, but aged in Rye Whiskey barrels instead of bourbon.

I was joking about not believing me, should have used one of these:wink:

Just to clear up any confusion, the '12 St Pats release was Bourben not Bourbon. True story.

Hey guys, to clarify something there was a mis-priced bottle in the list.
Cherry Oud Bruin is actually $8.00 per bottle, still with a limit of 6.
    Sorry for any confusion. Cheers!

The peach icewine is quite amazing if what they are selling is similar to previous versions. French Toast mead (bourbon) is their most popular, this one is Rye barrel aged though.. BA doesn't rate them, but you can see reviews on RB for most. French Toast, Gorilla and Cinnamonster are all rated higher than Mint. Although the meads coming out this year are slightly different.. so your guess is as good as mine.

i personally did not care for the last release of french toast thought it was very dry and not as sweet as the nip bottles from 2 years ago.

Interesting, I've never had it, but I like sweet. Do you think Rye barrel would be more or less sweet than Bourbon?

Rye whiskey is typically less sweet than bourbon
