I just drinking my first one, and wow, this is just amazing. It brings me back right to cantillon!

Easily the best beer I had in 2013.

Yes, wish I had another case. I guess I can resist the half case I have remaining until summer.

I hope they make it again, so good.

I'm sure it will be made again, but it takes almost 2 years.

Yeah I know, I think it was a year and a half of aging for this batch.

What a gem, 50 bucks a case, only available at every grocery store in Wisconsin...It's the kind of beer that makes you want to stop trading and appreciate the locals more.

They recently expanded the brewery to ramp up wild ale production. It sounds like they're moving towards more traditional methods, so expect blends from 1- 2- and 3-year barrels.

This is the reason people in WI so love NG. Amazing beer, easily found, sold at a reasonable cost.

I'll trade you 1:1 for a 4 pack of black note

It has a strange funk to it that is different than Belgian funk. I found it to be a bit too much funk, the sourness was really nice though.

Just a bit too heavy on the barnyard.

Must have went through three cases of it between drinking it and sending them out for trades, think it was the best thing they have ever made. Think I'm down to only having a 4 pack left that will be gone soon, hoping they have some batches to release in 2014

I made the mistake of only trading for a single 4 pack of this. If this beer comes out again I will throw all kinds of stuff out there to get as much as possible. Super enjoyable and the price point is awesome.

Possible, but I would say not likely. While they have repeated some Thumbprints in consecutive years, I don't think it is the norm, with Apple Ale being the big exception. I think they did IIPA two years in a row as well, but I'm struggling to think of another example. Anyone got one?

Great beer, but comparing it to Cantillon? Really?

Not the first time the comparison has been made, and it's not like the brewers over there aren't fairly complimentary of Dan & Deb...

Right with you. Great beer but much different than Cantillon. I wouldn't even be mad if OP said he liked NG Wild Sour better than Cantillon's sours but they are definitely not similar.

Both are truly excellent world-class breweries, but how complimentary the Cantillon folks are to the Carey's (and vice-versa I'm sure) has nothing to do with any similarity between their beers...

What I'm half-remembering is some BA bringing a NG sour over there to share with the Cantillon brewers. Supposedly, they liked it a lot and made some direct comparisons. (I was browsing the Benelux forum a lot earlier this year, since I planned a trip there...)
