Not worth starting a thread but I am sitting here switching back and forth from MBC Lunch and HT. HT blows the Lunch away IMHO. Also, has anyone ever made a 1/2 and 1/2 with HT (or similar great IPA) and Bourbon County Brand Stout- I am thinking of it.

I brew a mean milk stout and have found a 50/50 blend with heady to be out of this world.

I think HT is a bargain at three dollars a can. That's what a Schlitz would cost me in a local bar- and it would not be the full pint either.

I think that was one of the places they were considering, but then Jen Kimmich said they'd have to widen the road (at the location they were considering?) Shit! Hopefully that location isn't out of the running.

Who misses going to the cannery? MEEEEE!
People are following the HT delivery truck...

I like Heady lots, but I have a hard time seeing a twelve-dollar four pack as a working-class staple.

It is a treat, not a staple. The USA is a great country, but not that great.

I've got 6 acres and a carriage house that would make a great retail shop in Maine. No rent but first dibs on the beer. I think there's room for Lawson's and HF as well. Let me know. Also opened to MBC and Pliney.

In my perfect world the Alchemist would open a new 15 barrel brewery that would brew John's old and new receipes.

Those beers would be split between kegs for local establishments and growler fills at the new retail location. Still sell Heady with a 1 case limit and sample Heady and the brew du jour that is being growlered.

    Same type of retail shop.

For once the State of Vermont really needs to recognize the ecomonic impact that quality brewers have on the overall local economy, from the number of employees to the number of tourists that specifically come to Vermont to stay overnight, dine locally, spend major$$'s and contribute to Vermont's bottom dollar.

Anyone recall drinking John's "Shut the Hell Up" at the old Alchemist Brewpub? Feels weirdly prescient. Wonder if he's seen this thread and thinking the same.

I also think I read a vermont based economic impact study published over the last month, but I can't find it any where.

Also, would you let Russian River brew any of their other beers, or only Pliny?

$13.50 six pack equivalent for a 8%abv hop BOMB that is guaranteed to be fresh? Sucks 12oz format is the only thing I can think of that comes close - but even then its no Heady. $12 to have a great time on a friday or saturday night makes it affordable for pretty much anyone. They could easily charge more and still sell out every batch.

Ah, so craft beer is fundamentally a working-class phenom, eh?

    News to me!
