Having a share at a fellow BA place is cool (if not preferred) by me lol. So far, the few guys I've talked to have smaller accommodations, myself included. Just figured it would be cool to start off at the likes of Malt and Vine/Geaux.

As for beer, I'd like to have similar styles involved or beers that don't clash too much. I'd say we leave vintage and rarity can be up to the individual. I think the last thing we would need is to open a B1/300 case release brew only to find out someone isn't respectful of it.... or is this just me lol?

Start small, nothing rare. Formal introductions first! When we did the shares in Vegas at bar or brewery, we shared with those that worked at the establishment. That and tipped well. I like using Untappd and I swear I've seen shares definitely at Malt and Vine.

One thing I kind of like as an idea for bottle shares is to do some focused blind tastings where rarity and high alcohol aren't necessarily a focus. Everybody on another thread is freaking out about a list of top 10 IPAs. Well, a large scale blind IPA tasting would be great ... ambers and browns get little respect, but it would be interesting to do something with those as well. Another fun idea I've seen before is having people bring multiples from a specific brewery or state - you need to organize a bit so there's not duplicates - but it was nice seeing beers from South Carolina, Connecticut, etc.

If you've got some sort of focus like that it can feel special without people feeling like they have to exclusively bust out rare beers or 10%+ beers.

Keep me posted as well. I'm always down for tastings. I live in Mountlake Terrace.

I'd be interested in a Capitol Hill share.

I'll be moving up to the Newcastle area next month from Long Beach, California. Wouldn't mind driving to Bellevue for bottle shares, also if there is any requests for beers to bring up I will try to bring what I can. I will be bringing up RR Beat and some Bruery stuff as well as stuff from my friends over at Beachwood.

Love the Beachwood stuff I've had. You get any Sante Adairius or driving by on the way up?

I'm from Long Beach. Flying down Xmas til the 30th. I've always hit up Stearns Liquor, but if you have any other suggestions for good bottle shops, I'd love to do some shopping while I'm there.

I always mix up where Long Beach is exactly...but if you Yelp the area you can find good ones. I know some good ones near San Diego...Distiller's Outlet, Texas Liquor, and Pizzaport Carlsbad but I dont know what the drive time would be to get there

In LB I would check out California Heights as well. The whole foods in Long Beach as well as Lazy Acres both have great buyers and you can find some great stuff at good prices.

I will be driving up but I am not sure if I will have time to stop by Sante Adairius, I am trying to make it to RR to fill my growlers but haven't made the plans yet.

Picking up some Beachwood Tovarish this week when they bottle it.

I also don't know what southern California stuff gets distributed up there but I will grab what Bruery and other small brewery stuff I can.

We get a lot of bruery stuff. You can look at seekabrew.com to see what PNW gets and doesn't.

It's a great site, but think of it as showing some stuff a place gets rather than only what they get. There is so much stuff not listed on the site, which is understandable with how often craft beer distro is changing.

There will be a bottle share at beer authority on Saturday around 1 pm. If youd like to go, just bring at least 2 bottles that aren't currently available on the shelves.. Send me a bm also so I'll have relative numbers.

    Cheers
