Check out the Mussel Bar in Revel. Great tap list and an even bigger bottle list.

White Horse Wine and Spirits has an incredible beer selection. Found some great stuff there. About 15 minutes outside AC in Absecon.

Agreed, every once and a while they get some pliny in. Don't get your hopes up, but its always worth a call.

Nice! It's got kind of a dive atmosphere but great beers and a wide selection. I was there when Phish was last in town and they had DFH 120 and Old School on tap.

Another good nearby store suggestion would be Joe Canal's in Egg Harbor Township. If you're heading south on the Parkway, it is just off of exit 36, not sure about heading north. I've always found some good stuff there.

Just a heads up though, now that casinos can sell packaged goods, I don't think they let you bring your own to your room anymore, but I'm not positive on that, thought I remembered seeing signs to that effect last time I was there. But I'm sure out of sight out of mind applies here.

Just backing everyon else up...Firewater, lotsa taps, flights are reasonable, good choices.
Revel's Mussel Bar is great, but expensive, both beer and food-wise. Not so great: Tun's Tavern.

Ahhh, that must have been the change that instituted all the enforcement. I *believe* it has always been frowned upon to bring outside booze into the casinos however it was very well tolerated. When I was in a couple of the casinos a few months ago they had newly posted signage all over the place regarding outside booze and even saw some enforcement with folks having to return coolers to their cars.

So my memory is correct... so I would suggest hitting liquor stores on the way home unless you want to throw the beer in your luggage.

I rarely bad mouth a place but avoid Tun at all costs.

THAT bad you think? I went once and wasn't very impressed, but didn't think it was that bad.

A place no one has mentioned is the Vagabond Taphouse. I've only been once but was fairly impressed - maybe b/c my expectations were so low. Nothing outstanding on tap, but definitely a solid selection - and I think they have decent food too.

Another place I've been intrigued by is in Egg Harbor City (prob like 30 min outside AC?) called the Avenue Cafe. It seems like they get some pretty solid beers in there, but they're only open like 4 hours a day. Weird. Wondering if anyone's been?

I never had a problem with Firewaters. If you're staying on the boardwalk, it's hard to pass up the convenience of it. Prices have always been more or less in line with what I expected, they have a solid selection, and my friend and I had a great chat about beer with the bartender one night when they weren't very busy.

I mean if you're looking to not drink BMC then it checks off that box. The beer isn't world class but from the ones I had they weren't even really good representations of the style.

I used to love this place, but I find myself struggling to find things to buy there. Everything just sits and sits and sits some more. It's a shame.

so it seems Mussels in Revel is closing along with the casino.. any other spots to grab a nice dinner in AC? We are arriving Sunday August 7th and staying at The Chelsea right next to Tropicana.

When I was at Caesars back in May, one of the bars on the casino floor had Victory Dirtwolf bottles.
