Hey guys, visiting family in North Olmsted. I know about Great Lakes and Hoppin' Frog's new tasting room. Been to fatheads as well, and that bar by great lakes, biermarket or something. What other local spots are around that are worth visiting? Any recommendations on bottle shops? I managed to find some Zombie Dust last year which was really good stuff. My dad said that liquor store closed down though =( Anyways, any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Lizardville in Rocky River is a great bottle shop, but they're closing at the end of the year and relocating to Lakewood. Rozi's in Lakewood has a good selection too and a few beers on tap. Ross's Beverage and Simone's are both good bottle shops as well in the Lakewood area. Tremont Tap House is near Great Lakes and they usually have a really good selection of beers on tap.
Fat Heads, Rozi's, Brew Kettle, Beer Engine, Melt, Rocky River Brewing Co, Great Lakes, Market Garden, Nano. In that order.
Awesome thanks guys! Gonna be a beer filled holiday week =D EDIT- Also any beer recommendations are welcome too. I know 3 Flloyds is solid stuff, but only have had Zombie Dust and Alpha King. Any relatively unknown yet awesome ohio brews? I know Great Lakes, Fat Heads, Hoppin, and FFF, but that's it.
FFF is from Indiana. You can find their stuff around here every once in awhile, but it's hard to come by and I haven't seen anything good except Alpha Klaus in the last few weeks. I'm not sure when you're visiting so you might be able to find some FFF. Other good beers to check out... Thirsty Dog: Siberian Night, BA Siberian Night, Wulver Brew Kettle: White Rajah I'm not sure if you get Lagunitas or Founders where you live, but Sucks and FIS should be hitting shelves around here soon.
Yeah, I forgot about Lizardville, Tremont Tap house, or Simones. I'd add them after Rozi's in my list! I'm sure there are a few more places I'm still forgetting!
Hey guys just wanted to say thanks again. Just hit up Simone's and landed 3 bottle of speedway stout! Sooo happy to have found it, plus I found hoppin frog Cleveland crusher which I didn't even know existed. I'm at about capacity now lol, rest of purchases will probably get consumed instead of taken back to fl. Wish I could have scored some ba speedway but ah well, I'm happy as a reindeer the day after Christmas. Well, must be off now, heading to fatheads which I will always remember as Danny boy's. No disrespect to FFF stuff. I know its hard to find here and not distributed to Florida but while you are here, try seeking some great Ohio beers that are out. GLBC Blackout, TBK White and Black Rajah's, Hoppin Frog BA DORIS (just hit shelves), Columbus Bodhi (fantastic DIPA), Maumee Bay Amarillo Brillo, etc. If you really want to find FFF stuff, I would recommend Rozis, Simones and Lizardville and if you strike out their, Lilly's Chocolates in Tremont and Royal Park in Strongsville are also places where they seem to get more than other places. Well I went to melt last night….WOW Those sammiches! Had a meatloaf daddy, my god…. Enjoyed it all night with GL Blackout Stout which was fantastic. Had something else at the end of the night, can't remember now. Heading to Brew Kettle tonight, then probably Rocky River. Wish I had time and energy to hit them all. Headin back souh tomorrow with a suitcase full of great beer.
