Ooooooooooh Im gonna be keeping my fingers crossed till tomorrow then!

 

I was #445, picked it up about 930pm and got my full allotment of every beer except solar eclipse. Props to Kuhnhenn for getting the limits right. Glad I didn't have to waste my Friday night to get up and stand in line at 5am like a dumbass.

BB barley wine was tasting awesome

 

Are they still dumbasses if they got in line early for mead because some of those ran out early? What if they needed to leave early?

 

Joining this conversation way late. Just got into town for a few days. Is there a chance of getting any bottles at this point at the brewery? Specifically bb4d and bbbw? Thanks for any info

 

I would venture a guess that you can get some BB4D today. Regular 4D as well. The BBBW I have no idea.

IMHO, which is already vilified, yes. The people that lined up at 5am are still insane.

I chickened out last night. Slept in my bed and not my car. Guess I just don't have the dedication.

Nope. No trades at all. I might put some 4D up later after the flood of stuff gets traded and the market cools. I was 393 and got everything sans Solar.

I get it if you had to bolt out early you wanted to get yours early. I'm coming to the realization that I may be more upset at what this has turned into apposed to what it has been. It used to be about being there to celebrate and bottles were a nice bonus. It felt like this year was more about the bottles than the celebration. That's where everything is headed I guess. I suppose it's on me to just accept it.

Like I said in a previous post, I sincerely hope everyone had an amazing time this weekend and that you got everything you wanted out of Solstice, bottles or otherwise.

 

I've been coming to Winter Solstice since 2010 and I was not at all suprised by the huge turnout so early this year. It's the way of things in the beer release world any more (KBS, 4elf, etc). There's no need to be grumpy about seeing so many people arrive so early, it is what it is.

I personally arrived way earlier than I've ever done in the past (around 6:20am), mainly because:
1. I expected a big crowd, and I wanted to be able to depart around noon
2. Kuhnhenn stated that lines would start at 6am in a heated tent

Unfortunately neither of these things happened... Abawol01, I can understand complaints about Kuhnhenn's customer focus (let them wait in the cold when a warm tent is advertised and available, appalling inefficiency in sales pace), but it's no use lamenting the growth in demand leading to early line-ups.

 

I was bummed about the french toast but no big dEAL. Had a good time and met some nice BAs. On that note, anyone have an extra french toast? I'll fork over some recent stuff. Cheers.

 

I was 433 and didn't get any BBBW.... Hmmmm

Oh well, I got lost of the other stuff I ordered. Sounds like try it limits right for the most part. Had a few great beers while waiting too. Good times.

Great time. Tried both eisbocks, tried the french toast. Only bad thing was the one guy who cut about 150 ppl in line. Staff was awesome, also enjoyed watching the Wings beat the Leafs in the pub.

 

Thanks. Anyone else know what's still available in bottles? I have no ticket, just in Michigan for a few days and want to bring back some Kuhnhenn's to Texas.

bierenutz can correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure Vanilla Gorillabilly is always bourbon barrel aged.

 

The guy was fat, ugly, bearded blonde, from Cincinnati. Was waiting for Raymo to kick his ass.

 

That's odd. What time did you pick up? When I asked for mine at about 9:30 they couldn't find my slip, but they confirmed that some orders as high as the 490s were filled. They found my 445 and filled it while I was standing there. Maybe whoever filled your order "couldn't find" the bbbw and assumed it was gone?

 

You could have just said "from Ohio", we can do the Ohio-ugly math

 

They have regular 4D, Raw Michigan, Cherry Oud, and Forbidden IPA left in bottles if you stop there today.

 

Were you able to get any BBBW? I was 407 and planning on picking up my order at some point today
