The Berlin Bier Shop carries a lot of US craft beer. I do not know whether they ship their beers.

    Cheers!

Frank sent me beer a couple of times, and I reciprocated with box of US craft beer, but then he said he was finished with international deliveries as they were too much of a hassle. And this was many years ago.

Maybe you shouldn't have sent him that U.S. beer.

Seriously, though, I can imagine it's a hassle. My initial reasons for never ordering from frank was that the box was going to cost in excess of 50 EUR with shipping. Back then that seemed outrageous (and it still does to me, but probably not to the new generation).

You're right - maybe the Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale was a bit much for him.
It was quite expensive then and still is. A couple of years ago I did a trade with another member of this forum who needed a serious hops fix and it was pricey for both of us.

I, personally, would have been very appreciative to receive some SN Celebration while living in Germany. That said, I never found myself wanting to drink multiples of such hoppy beers -- just to get a quick fix between "sessions" of Schlenkerla, Mahr's, or Greifenklau.

I just learned of this website as I have just read about the new Schneider Weisse Tap X. Wheat Porter anyone...? Looks yummy.

    Will investigate this website further.

Interestingly, the recipe for the new Tap X "Porter Weisse" is by a homebrewer. I read about that on the hobbybrauer.de-forum. It's the same guy who brewed this Simcoe-Märzen for his university-anniversary, that I wrote about a few weeks ago. With Schneider Weisse adapting his recipe for their X-series, he seems to be more of a pro now.

I'll definitely will try try this when I go to BrauKunstLive in February... at 10,90 €/1L it's not a cheap drink, eh?

No, it's not cheap. I thought it was even 750 ml. That's about the price of Faust's Auswanderer if I remember correctly. That website seems to specialize in expensive beer. Frowny Face.

Speaking of prices, how are you keeping your beer-related expenditures low during your U.S. sojourn? Any other new beers to report about? Inquiring minds and all....

It's been pretty easy - I haven't bought anything else yet!

I've been laying pretty low, usually one beer per night, sometimes none (a reason you haven't seen too many updates from me). Die Frau claimed the rest of the Jabby Brau (man are we far apart on that beer), while I've been working through the Lashes Lager and the 90 Minute. Definitely not going to finish the last two FBS. I may or may not get Smoke & Dagger. To be honest I'm not really moved to try it. @JackHorzempa recommended Troeg's Troegenator so I'm thinking of that, too. We'll see. I'm not 100% inspired right now. ABIPA.

OK, I did a quick beer run and picked up a six pack of Troeg's Troegenator as well as singles of Ayinger's Celebrator and Spaten's Optimator. I'll take a break from the hoppy stuff for a minute and see how Troegs holds up against some German standards. More later!

Should be an interesting comparison. Don't think I've ever seen anyone do that one before....
