Of course, there were just no Vermont complainers at the time.

Aaaaaaaaaaaand, no Georgia again. I suspect other breweries will keep making beer that will taste good, no?

If I were the month of January I'd be pissed that Stone screwed me out of 1/14/14 Enjoy By.

Wondering why only eight states besides their "venues" will get the Valentine issue when according to my admittedly highly flawed senior memory, the last one went to about seventeen states and the one before that went to at least 26? Is Stone running out of hops, or trucks, or just tormenting those who happen to live in the "wrong" states, whether they're worthy or not?

This IS still America, where free speech is supposed to rule. However, I agree, complaining about distribution by folks in Russian River/Deschutes/Alpine/Kern River/Bell's/Three Floyds lands rings a bit hollow to those of us who never see the BA top-rated brews by any of those breweries. Throw in Florida/Cigar City, Minnesota/Surly and Iowa/Toppling Goliath too. And of course Vermont/Alchemist/Hill Farmstead/Lawson's.

Of course it was mostly just posturing on my part. I have little to complain about being in NY. I got Enjoy By 11.12.13, which was amazing. If I can manage to plan a ski trip this winter, I should be able to get to some places in Vermont, which is a not-crazy drive from me. I often drive to/from Baltimore to visit my in-laws, and Philly is pretty much on the way, so all in all life is pretty decent. Last night, while prematurely celebrating my victory in the fantasy football finals (I say prematurely because Roddy White cost me $480), I got to enjoy Red Poppy for the first time, which I picked up on my last trip to Philly.

Thanks for the interesting reply. Some posturing here too. I guess the point was that at best we have to travel out of state and then can only get a few of what our states lack, and often have to go rather far. The Waterbury Vermont area is three hours away from me, Greensboro Bend closer to four, and Philly six. All the rest are a two day to a week trip each way by car. Of course most folks can trade if so inclined, but my state is one of the few which frowns on alcohol in the mail.

I still have faith that they will one day send it to Montana.

3 Hours goes by pretty quickly when you are pumped to pick up some world class beer! About 3.5 for me to Montpelier or Waterbury and it really is an easy trip. Adding HF is a whole different thing as you have to plan extra driving and a long wait. Certainly not a trip I would take for 3 growlers so typically need someone else with me to make that one worthwhile (although the beer is certainly worthwhile in it's own right).

I wasn't knocking the trip, just pointing out that there's a bit more involved than hitting up my local beer store. Not only the time and effort and wear and tear on the car but around $40 in gas. If you did not live another 3 hours away to complete a triangle, I'd be delighted to share the expense of the trip with you almost anytime.

Back to the OP's point, still wondering why only 8 states are slated to get 2/14/14 after so many more got the last few issues, and if I recall correctly the vast majority of states got 9/13/13. Seems odd. I had been thinking that after my state did not get 10/13/13 but did get 11/12/13 and then not 12/13/13, that the intention by Stone was that after dropping voting, eventually every state would get every other issue. Apparently not so. Also wondering why 1/14/14 is absent entirely.
