Green Flash. Nearly all four packs are marked at 14.99. Sorry, you're not there yet boys, and the one beer perhaps worth that, Rayon Vert, is leaving for the dreaded larger formats.

Founders. Their year round beers, at 12.99 a sixer, are seeming pedestrian these days (minus DB, which should be a seasonal) and there seasonals are ridiculously overpriced while their Backstage Series is entirely disappointing.

Never said "hello" to high-priced beers. I'm not desperate to chase the next big thing or tick beers. Too many good beers out there at reasonable prices to spend hard-earned cash on some beer with a big number on the sticker.

yea sadly I passed on all Founder just a few days ago. a 4 packs of most we get are 11 bucks. I love them and I bought them at first, but now my budget does not allow it as much, sadly. Still I NOT say Goodbye to any beer, I just have to drink them less. YMMV:grinning:

Op it sounds like due to your geographic location you're getting hosed on price, or you need to find a new shop to buy from. Both gf and founders are right around 8.99-10.99 a four or six pack depending on the beer. As far as the backstage series, I've only had mango magnifico and didn't think it was half bad, not worth the price tag but not a terrible beer. Good luck in the coming year.

Every brewery that does not date, I always tell me self I will not buy there beers but then end up making a dumb decision and buying a 4 pack of Left Coast Hop Juice that should have read, Left Coast Malt Juice.....

I used to stick by this, but have slacked as of late, been getting burned way to much by out of date hoppy beers both local and out of state breweries...

Did you here breweries that do not date!!!! Locally that means Lucette who makes one of my favorite APAs.... and 3 Sheeps who makes a nice IPA but last time I bought a six it was old and bad.

These prices are largely being driven by state taxes I suspect. Having lived in Missouri and then moved to Ohio/Michigan border and finally living in Massachusetts, the same beer can vary in price so much as it to make it practically undrinkable in certain markets. For example, a lot of Bruery beers are 20+ here in MA and that doesn't work for me when I know what they cost in other places.

With 2013 passing, I'll bid final farewell to Shipyard, Smuttynose, Rising Tide, Backyard, Newburyport, Blue Hills and all those other brewers that are relatively local, but simply aren't make high level product. I'd love for you to be good enough, but you just aren't!

Also, bad collabs be gone! Just putting another brewer's logo on the label together with yours doesn't mean you can sell shitty beer! Jacks Abby....I'm looking at you...

Geography plays a HUGE part in price..no bargains in PA and not much in the way of alternatives.

I'm not saying "goodbye" to any breweries just yet, and am looking forward to saying "hello" to some that I haven't tried out! I think the one's that are priced high for me will have to be considered a luxury item as I plan on cutting back on my beer tab next year. Cut back, not eliminated, life's too short to not enjoy what you like.
    CHEERS!

I feel that way about Pennsylvania breweries...heretical to some around here. But I just don't think they are that great.

Arcadia, easily. Everything I've drank has tasted like I'm licking an ink pad. 0-4 on beers that were rated 92+ on BA.

Yeah, I thinks it's been years since they've sold anything down in Missouri that made feel like I got my money's worth. New Holland about in that same group. Noticed the price of Dragon's Milk is rocketing up. No thanks, I'll buy the Schlafly's Imp Stout or Yeti, or Narwhal for even cheaper...

I noticed a 3-4 dollar price spread between what I was paying for Founders in Missouri vice NC. I'm sure some of it is tax, but not all of it...

Honestly...and I know I'm about to get murdered for this....I'm done with Goose Island, including Bourbon County.

This isn't some hipster, irony-pissing comment. I find GI to be massively overpriced and not nearly as awesome as everyone else seems to think.

Also....Shipyard for good, and I think I'm finally pulling the trigger on White Birch as well.

I assume this is in reference to the Jack's Evil Brew? While not being their best effort by any stretch, I'm not so sure I would call it shitty. And I certainly would not dictate that JA should not do collabs simply because one turned out less than stellar. Perhaps we are just spoiled by how amazing their other products are...?

Saying goodbye to Mikkeller hoppy beers only since there is no date on them, been burned too many times.

I think I've probably purchased my last Stone brew. Nothing against them at all as I totally see the merit in what they do if you love hops. I just don't love hops.

I like Rising Tide's beers, but only buy on tap as the bottles are overpriced. Smutty IPA is still one of the best in the category and Baltic Porter is a world class beer, plus with the opening of the new larger brewery I wouldn't abandon them completely yet. I'm on board with Shipyard though.

I'll add Maine Beer Co. to my list. You make very good beers, but the prices are outrageous and I refuse to pay imperial IPA prices, and often times higher, for a pale ale.

Me too on the outrageous pricing. Goodbye to those breweries or those offerings. I determined a reasonable amount of money for a bomber, four pack and six pack and some of the stuff I see is just too much . I suppose that over the past year I have become a beer drinker and not just a beer taster and this is reflection of that.
