A local beer buyer for a grocery store (who knows his stuff) reports that DFH is turning Raison D'Etre to draft-only; no more bottles. Anyone else heard that?

I haven't heard that yet, but that would be a huge bummer. That's always a been solid go-to beer that can be found at most convenience stores in NYC and be bought in a pinch.

I thought I heard they were going to stop bottling it but that they would be bringing back Raison D'Extra.

Don't have to hear it. It's on their web site, draft only for 2014

This is what I read, and I think it's a great move. D'Extra is great and one of their originals, way back from the late 90s. Also very ageble. Been a long time since I've had this fresh, but have had some well aged ones recently. Looking forward to this.

Well, I'm crying. Raison de Etre is one of my favorite beers period! Gonna have to stock up on some six packs for cellaring.

Happy that de Extra is coming back though!!

I love some DFH, not always the $/oz, but they've got some great stuff...

but I NEVER NEVER EVER understood people thinking raison was even decent, let alone good/great. Luckily everyone likes different things so everyone can get what they want, except for the RdE bottle fans

    Yea, you heard right.

Chicory Stout has also suffered the same fate.

Unfortunately, I could tell you that both Raison d'Etre and Chicory Stout don't really more retail product, so they were both on their way out. If they continue to retire their poor sellers, Festina Peche is the next to go. :slight_frown:

Can't say I would miss it. Very hard to drink even though its around 8%. Pretty affordable but maybe it will be replaced with something new.

NBD for me. Not sure I've even went thru a case of it in all the time I've been drinking craft. So many other $10 beers that crush that one! I like it, but I almost NEVER seek it out. A mix a six brew here and there, that's about it.
    bye bye
