I don't know (or care) where "your nabe" is, but I have never heard anyone use the term bomber to refer to a 750ml bottle. As for them being "almost the same size", a 750ml bottle has almost 15% more liquid in it than a 22oz.

Rayon Vert, aka Orval's cheaper, less subtle little American cousin. This is really too bad, as Chuck Silva's fine tuning of the carbonation in the last few batches was a VAST improvement; the beer was definitely headed in the right direction.

I'll continue to buy in the future if the new format remains significantly cheaper than buying Orval, but if the price per ounce goes up (and I have a feeling it will), then I'll have no reason to buy it over Orval.

Not true, you're pissed, but that's cool. 7x7=49; Bomber=22 oz.; 750=25.4 oz. Some things are just true.

OK. We'll add to the list of some things that are just true that Harnkus sincerely doesn't give a shit.

I know that 25.4 ounces and 22 ounces are different sizes, but to me and the people I surround myself with, we simply refer to them as bombers. I sincerely don't give a shit if that jives with nomenclature.

Fact is, RV will cost significantly more per ounce in a 750, and THAT I give a shit about it. I love that fu king beer

Well, never mind. Rayon Vert is a good beer.

Never had a problem with Rayon Vert foaming out the bottle. Definitely takes a long time to pour due to the carbonation but Orval behaves pretty much exactly the same in my experience.

Yep, same here. A bomber of Green Flash is something like $10+ here in MA. Orval is about $6. If RV returns in big bottles at the typical GF price, why bother with it if I can drink the same amount of Orval for the same price per oz and have the convenience of smaller bottles?

But as a MA beer drinking, I'm used to watching GF price themselves out of my shopping cart. RV was the last one that remained a good deal.

Had a Jolly Pumpkin on Xmas eve. Was to be my special treat and was a friggin geyser. Never again. On the other hand I've been enjoying GF IIPA and Green Bullet $6.99/22oz bottle which is not a bad price in PA at all...
