Picked up my bottles today, had to do some pickitupformebro do to homies being out of town, was able to get three bottles with three tickets. Looked like they had at least 3 cases behind the bar, didn't ask if there was more.

My advice, if you have a ticket and want Backyard GO NOW! The tickets given out on BF gave you the OPPORTUNITY to buy it, nothing gauranteed. They may have received less that originally expected and thus gave out more tickets that bottles they actually got. If you have a ticket and miss out I will agree that sucks, but at the end of the day I would find it hard to blame TH's for you missing out.

    My two cents...

From talking to him (Ted?), I think they got about enough to cover everyone with a ticket. He said that a ton of people came the first day it was available (Sunday?), and on Monday when I picked up there were clearly about 5 1/2 cases left. Guessing he got 8 or 9 cases, which would jive well with the 100 tickets given out.

Now I'm wondering though, besides a random bottle shop in Staten Island, was Top Hops the only shop to even receive Backyard?

LET THE GREAT HUNT (PT. 2) BEGIN!

I'm wondering the same. At first I thought it would just come to everyone else later than TH just like the BF event, but then again, maybe it was only for the BF event that they had it exclusively. Who knows.

It seems like it wasn't label approval that held this up, the bottle I got at TH was bottled on 11/20/13, so it seems more likely it just was behind in the production cycle.

I picked up my 2 bottles yesterday around 2pm. They had about a case and a half behind the bar. However, the barkeep mentioned that he had another few cases in the back. I'm guessing that they will still have about 2 cases left when today is over and done with - at which point those bottles will be fair game for the general public tomorrow (albeit with a bottle limit of course).

Out of town for 12 days for the holidays and they would not hold my bottle or let me buy it over the phone to be held at Top Hops, so my bottle is up for grabs tomorrow. Would guess others are in the same boat and Monday a bunch are available at Top Hops.

Just left top hops. Was about 5th in line with at least 20 more behind me. They have a decent amount but will probably sell out soon given the amount of people already there.

I agree... if you want a bottle don't walk, run! It looked like there was about 3 and a 1/2 cases available behind the bar before the doors were open, not sure if there's anymore in the back. There's a 1 bottle limit.

Same to above. I was about 15-20 in line and when I got my bottle there were 2 cases left and a dozen-ish people behind me.

They had less than a case left when we finally left the store, and there was still a line. We passed back bye about an hour later and it looks like it was completely sold out.

How the heck did they get so much?! We got so little in Rochester that the distributor decided not to put it out into the marketplace and is saving it for dinners and tastings.

I can vouch for Malt and Mold, although I think there out now. Nonetheless, if you're already there, then pick up some YUZU

Thanks for the heads up. Broadway Dive still has a few backyard rye left. They also had singles of BCBS and a single barley wine left. There are a number of harder to find items here at fair prices for NYC.

Speaking of, kudos to them for the fair price on Backyard Rye too. It was under $21 after tax, where as Malt and Mold I believe was listing it for $27+. Gotta love that cheap upper west side real estate!

I'm gonna guess the BYR has come and gone through NYC at this point, am I right?
