Ordered a pound of various dried fresh cones from freshhops.com and saw a new type that a few breweries have started to experiment with so I picked up 2 oz. Amazingly the AA% is only 2-3%....and says they have a peachy smell and flavor. With such a low bittering value one would think you could put a bunch of these into a recipe and make a tasty IPA or PA. Im going to use the ones I get in the mail as a whirlpool addition to an all cascade pale ale I have already made ( all grain ) that was awesome but remove the whole cone cascades and replace with these in the whirlpool. Interested to see how they will end up in the beer.

Multihead hopsHumulus lupulus var. neomexicanus. A native low alpha US hop from New Mexico.
Test brews exhibit a unique peachy aroma/flavor.

My experience has been positive but I don't get peach whatsoever. Use it sparingly has been the spot I have landed using the multihead. I know the farmer who had originally isolated this breed and he's really amped on them but I cannot say I really am. I made a german pilsner with them recently and it was a bit earthier than I was hoping. Do a SMaSH beer with them to get a good feel for what they will do for you...

I have yet to dry hop but we did use this as the dry hop variety in our upcoming Beer Camp #118 beer. I have not tasted the beer so I can't say anything other than I like the idea of it being used as a dry hop.
