I was wondering, does anyone know anything about how much BT was sold each year? Its seems that the latest (2011) is relatively easy to trade for compared with previous years. I realize the 2009 is a few years old at this point, but even when it was relatively new it was a tough get. People seem to be coughing up 2011's much more readily. Did they make a lot more?

    2009 - 1600 bottles
    2010 - 3000-ish bottles
    2011 - i'd guess 8000-ish bottles

    definitely ramping up production.

Also allocations were way up in 2011 - so people had up to 7 bottles of it. The more you have, the more likely you are to let it go for less...

There was also the online sale, so 10+ if you wanted that many.

When I picked up my 2011 BT's, I was told by an employee there were about 10,000 bottled.

Plus two other public sales at one bottle each at the bruery bottle store - so let's call it a full case

4900 bottles went to RS members, assuming all bout max allocations. I'm not sure how many bottles the online sale was. I would figure something around 8000 bottles have actually been released.

We have been seeing them pop up for sale here and there, so I would guess if they really did bottle 10k the locals will probably be able to snag more here and there over the course of the year.

The Bruery posted something about it being available in a very small quantity once or twice. I doubt anyone is going to pick one up for you as it is 1 bottle limit and very small amount. If they went to the trouble of dropping everything to go get one they're going to drink it or trade it for something good. Maybe it is their way of getting more people to come out to the Provisions shop.

    Sure. I'll grab you two.

I was joking about grabbing me one, but was serious about asking if it made it to shelves . That's a pretty big surprise to me. Thatll be some lucky folks grabbing that up.

It was a 1 day thing, 1 bottle limit, 360 bottles available. They posted it on Facebook. It is pretty awesome for those close enough to get right over there fast and grab a bottle.

Yeah that's really awesome. Talk about incentive to follow their Facebook page closely.

heh, in my glib response i should have mentioned that black tuesday will almost certainly be on shelves (distributed) within a couple of years. the bruery anticipates demand well and responds to it, which, as mind-blowingly obvious as it sounds, is a total minority in some beer circles.

I think the bruery is better than just about any brewery (heh heh) at dealing with pricing, demand and accessibility.

FWIW I asked Patrick Rue this question at the RS party this year and he said definitely not. Who knows though?
