I will be traveling from Chicago to Cleveland and was wondering how far off the toll road/how long would it take me to get to the brewery. and how long does it take to get back on the 80/90
I believe Greenbush is exit 12 (ie 12 miles into Mich)... so it really isn't too far off the beaten path (and literally is right off the exit)
looks like you would take the toll road for about 28 miles, then get on I-94 E for about 40 miles or so to get to greenbush, but then only like 25 miles or so from Greenbush to get back to the toll road....google maps is your friend
Ya I was looking it up on google maps. Just trying to get info from people who might have done this before. Have to sell driver that is is not that far and worth it.
Instead of picking up the tollway, you'd stay on 94 to Michigan exit 12. After you enjoyed Greenbush, you'd continue east on Sawyer Road. At some point it jogs southeast and you'd pick up 31 south back to the tollway in South Bend. Really not a bad detour.
Looking forward to checking this place out this summer. I joined a golf club just outside of Traverse City, and the drive from Chicago takes us right by it. We skipped it last weekend to hit Founders instead, but I'll probably make the drive four or five more times before the season is over.
Greenbush is worth the drive for sure but if time is of the essence you can also jump off the Granger exit just east of South Bend and be at Bare Hands Brewery in less than 5 minutes. Honestly, I'd recommend doing both!
Made it in today just before last call. Shared a flight with my friend and got a growler of anger. No bottles on sale today, but did they that new bottles may come in over the weekend.
Was in there two weeks ago before DLD, excellent beer and the pulled pork was perhaps the best I've ever had.
