    Hmmmmm :/

If anyone is in doubt wether your beer is Camden or Weird Beard
if the beer is pasteurised, over fizzy, force carbonated, barely better than macro, over priced for what it is
    it's Camden Town Brewery

Now as much as the whole Weird Beard hipster element quirky/zany skull designy thing gets on my tits
their brews are spot on and the bottle conditioning adds real flavour depth and makes a fantastic ale.

Well that is a lot of beer talk
    lets do some drinking
    Innes & Gunn Bourbon Stout

Is there any truth behind the whole Russian Imperial Stouts being first created for the Russian Imperial Court story?

The beer must have been around prior to it becoming popular in the court no?

No idea if it ever even was or it's just an idea perpetuated like that of the strong hoppy beer for British troops in India being the IPA.

perhaps excessive consumption of RIS was the reason behind Rasputin's state of mind and barmy behavior lol

It was not 'originally' created for the Russian court. The Russians of St Petersburg in general quite liked though. But there was a variation that was apparently brewed for the Empress. And it just would have been referred to as just 'Porter' at the time. The earliest use of 'Imperial' to describe porter likely occurred in the early 19th Century while 'Russian' likely wasn't added until the early 20th Century.

Then again wasn't Special Brew originally made for Winston Churchill?

Yes it was. Churchill, the big lush that he was. And he had it in for miners as well.

Glad you spelt miners the correct way: wouldn't want people to think Winston had it in for minors!

I haven't reviewed Peroni: not that it's a regular tipple of mine. Just assumed I had years ago, I hadn't.

Can you buy single bottles or do you have to get 4 (or 6) in a nasty pack or whatever they call them?

    <*))))))><

I've seen it by the bottle Tesco in the past. Don't know if it's still sold that way though.

I drank it at the works do as there was a free bar and I had to try and dilute the rotating spirits I was rapidly consuming
Other than that I normally see it when dining out Italian with another option
the other option usually is out so it is oft Hobson's
