On Wednesday, January 8, Goose Island is hosting a tap invasion at The Sedgwick Stop (1612 N Sedgwick St, Chicago, IL). It's located just North of the Segwick Brown Line stop.

    Draft Lineup:
    Bourbon County Stout
    Proprietor's Bourbon County Stout
    Matilda
    Ten Hills Pale Ale
    Leisure Suit
    Green Line Pale Ale
    312 Urban Wheat Ale

    Bottle Selection:
    Bourbon County Coffee Stout
    Bourbon County Backyard Rye Stout
    Bourbon County Barleywine

As a side note, The Sedgwick Stop is owned by friends of mine who are invested in the Chicago beer community. If you haven't checked it out yet, swing by and support them. They have 14 beers on tap and have a rotating tap line for self-distributing Chicago breweries. They also have a great bottle list.

Cherry Rye was a nice surprise addition to the lineup :grinning:.

Coffee was great to get! The proprietors was gone in just over an hour. I thought the prices were a bit steep...anyone else think so?

I thought the 15$ flight was an excellent deal if you didn't want to drop 40$ on a backyard bomber, I wish more places would do that. Regular BCBS tends to show up for roughly 1$/oz on tap, so the variants are going to be a bit pricier, especially as the years increase. Prop was 12$/10oz I believe so that was reasonable. IMO Cherry was a bit over priced, but still worth it.

    Just my two cents.

I do like this place, and it's only a block from my house. But the prices are steep. Most of the beers on tap are a dollar or two more than everywhere else in the Chicago area. $15 for the Cherry Rye was the most expensive I've seen it. Even the $40 bombers are higher than most other places. I've had Proprietors at 2 other, different bars and paid $32 and $34. But it is a nice place and convenient for me. The staff and owner are super nice too. If they adjust prices to make them comparable to other places and improve the consistency of the food, it will become my regular spot.

Agree $15 is steeper than just about anywhere I've seen. On the other hand, $30 bomber equivalent is a decent deal.

Well Burger Bar was charging $15 for 10oz pour of regular BCBS so.....

I enjoyed this. I was in back at a table so not sure how crowded it got up front at the bar but my girlfriend and I each enjoyed a few beers without any problem.

    Side note: I love Proprietor's!
