The National Sales Rep told me at the ATX BCBS launch there was a pallet waiting for is after approval.

    Hopes dwindling.

I must have seen you there.

Yes, he said no cherry, but we will be getting coffee this year after label approval according to what we were told at the launch. That's why I opted for the cherry bomber over the coffee, and now the coffee is trading fairly highly, nobody is talking about the cherry, and it doesn't seem like we're getting either very soon. Bad decision?

Backyard Rye did get label approval, if that's what you're talking about (which I assume, since Cherry Rye was a one-time thing). No clue when the damned thing will come out, though.

I assume it'll come at the same time as the others.

Gawd I want a case of coffee so bad.

Backyard rye is coming to TX?

He was talking about the coffee at the time. The reps brought a case and a half split between 2012 coffee and cherry rye bombers just for the Austin launch. I asked him which he preferred and he told me I should go with the cherry because TX wouldn't be getting any cherry, but we would be getting the coffee after label approval.

So is the cherry more rare than the coffee? It definitely doesn't seem more sought after based on the trade forum.

Cherry Rye is definitely "rarer". Tastier? I loved it, but some called it "cough syrupy".

You might know this, but it's not clear to me from reading your posts--Cherry Rye came out in 2012, and that's it. The bombers that came to Texas in 2013 were just 2012 bottles that had been somehow left over. Backyard Rye is 2013's berry variant and is a separate thing. It was approved by the tabc (the only variant so far, aiui), and should be out some time. Don't know when, but it is scheduled to come.

Lutter: I thought it was a little medicinal, but didn't get that vibe from Bramble. I hear that Backyard does a great job of avoiding this

Halls just posted they have 17, FIS, and Black Xantus. One per on all of them as they didn't get much.

Yea I didn't know that. So the coffee is every year I'm guessing? Can't wait to get my hands on some backyard rye, it sounds pretty delicious. They didn't mention the backyard rye at the launch that I heard.

2013 Coffee is also the best I've had.

So much smoother than past years.

I totally agree about this years coffee, it's awesome.
if there was no hype involved, today my order of variants-only preference looks like this:
    2013 coffee > rare > barleywine > vanilla > backyard > cherry > bramble > '12 coffee

Well I know the Southlake one got their allotment, and they are on the Tarrant county side, but with Halls getting and posting theirs today maybe FW CM had to wait til today as well

I was at CM Hulen at 11am and 17 had not arrived yet. But she said it would be there today. I already got a bottle + price tag, so I don't care much about missing it. But they did have some other goodies.

Came and went about 3 weeks ago. Something like 18 cases total. There may be a bottle out there somewhere but it's not going to be easy to find.
