    Hoparazzi

all within a 10 min. drive from where i live. just waiting for a place w/ a good RIS, Farmhouse, Pales and Sours.
so for Noble came out w/ Citra Showers. something good i havent had in a while from the west.

You haven't had any good IPAs from the West in awhile?

I'm confused...you have The Bruery on your list, yet you don't think they make a good sour? Black Tuesday and its variations may be a stretch for a RIS, but c'mon.

Bruery is top tier (good farmhouses and solid sours, just in case you haven't tried).
Both Noble and Valiant has shown some solid promise within the past couple months.
Bootleggers is above-average? I've only had a couple beers from them worthy of more of my $.
The other half are just breweries that hasn't shown, at least to me, any real worth. At least not yet.

If you haven't tried any beers from Taps (Brea), they have solid RIS (both BA and non-BA), Barleywine (again both), Biere de Garde, and IPA's.

But this does bring up a good, and possibly a more important, point that O.C. is seriously stepping up their game on the craft beer scene. Love it.

I really havent had a good west coast Pale Ale in a while, im leaning more towards the East Coast Pale Ales cause of the better balance. Last i had was Hoppy Birthday from Alpine. Pupil is also good from Societe, but nothing else new from the West besides Citra Showers. Bruery for Orange County is top-tier, but i wouldnt make it my first choice for RIS, Farmhouse or Sours. Bruery has good sours but its like an acetobacter type of sour to me, I prefer RR and Lost Abbey. BT is good for a RIS, but Churchills Finest Hour is better. I like east coast RIS cause of the body and mouthfeel and for Farmhouse, im into tart and funk like HF and CS, but Sante Andairies is doing good things. Not a fan of Bootleggers at all.

Im waiting for the release of Remy from Taps, and the opening of Hoparazzi. hopefully they can offer more than just Mission Impeachable.

If anything, im not even complaining cause all these breweries are so close by.

I love the Bruery, but they don't excel in the farmhouse style. Saison de Lente and Saison Rue are both enjoyable (although Rue is on the heavy side for my taste in saisons) and Saison Tonnellerie was damn good, but go do a flight of tasters at a place like The Commons in Portland or Crooked Stave - that's what a killer lineup of farmhouse ales looks like.

I'd love to see the Bruery take a bit heavier focus on developing some amazing Saisons. They do sours and heavy beers very well, but Southern California has the perfect weather for saisons.

The Commons make badass beers. I enjoyed Myrtle, Maybelle and Biere Royale

Yeah I agree, thus the "good farmhouses".

Hope to try The Commons sometime.

In all seriousness, I'd be OK with just the one. Stone fruit sours FTW!

Bottle Logic has been open for a month now, and they have been putting out some amazing and experimental beers. They do fill unlabeled growlers as well if anyone was still wondering.

I definitely recommend checking them out!
