Leave your IPAs at home! I've been wanting to put together a bottle share for a little now and thought that stouts and sours might be a cool theme.

    Here are the details...

Location: I was thinking that Tin Bucket would be good if they are cool with it. If not, maybe Mongers.

Date: Either Sunday Feb 2 or Sunday Feb 9 around 6:00 PM. BM me if you are interested and I will try pick the date that accommodates the most people.

What to bring: Any interesting stouts or sours that you'd like to share (bonus points for sour stouts!). Of course if you don't have any stouts or sours, feel free to dip into other styles. Food is also welcomed.

My girlfriend and I will be contributing:
    -Prairie Bomb
    -Jackie O's Mahogany Lush
-Black Note 750ml or Barrel Aged Speedway Stout
    -Some awesome food

    Lets do it!

I'm assuming you're nota big fan of the NFL anteater. Especially if the Seahawks make it to the Superbowl, you likely will be drinking those beers by yourself if this takes place on 2/2.

Excellent observation - I am in fact not a football fan haha... Lets expand the possible dates on this to 1/31, 2/1, 2/7, 2/8 and 2/9. Let me know which ones work for you guys.

Other than 2/2, any other day would work just fine for me (as I'm not going to attend the release brunch this time around). I would actually think that the afternoon of 2/1 would work just fine, as the SN release brunch would be a nice "warm up" for most folks before they head up afterwards for the bottle share.

I have a number of things I can bring, including a bottle of Oakshire 7th Anniv (not a stout, but it is a sliightly sour imperial baltic porter).

Any day but 2/1 is probably okay for me. And I care nearly zero about the Superbowl.

I stand corrected anteater. Sounds like if this takes place on 2/2, you will have at least one other person there with you at the bottle share.

The 8th or 9th of February would work best for me. I should have a Mocha Wednesday to share by then, and probably something tasty and sour to cover that side of things.

So far Feb 8 works for everyone who's expressed interest

It's a weird thing how people who are into sports assume that everyone else is. Almost like beer geeks who get all huffy at people who don't really care what beer they are drinking.

What's equally weird, are those folks who aren't into sports, who can't understand why anyone else would be.

Personally, if neither the Seahawks or niners are in the the SB, I likely won't watch it. Nevertheless, I do realize that there are many sports fans out there who love to watch the SB, no matter who is in it, and make a considerable production out of it (they invite friends over; make a big meal, etc). Consequently, regardless of my personal feelings about the game, I do realize that Superbowl Sunday is probably not a good day to try to schedule an event that doesn't include watching the game.

The 8th or 9th is fine for me as well.

Bottle and Keepers releases from 2-6pm on the 1st at the new brewery.
We are hosting a bottle share too though, and Loak is vaguely stouty...

*shrug* Even non sports fans go to parties on Super Bowl Sunday. Or at least I have.

Obligatory beer-related comment: I've been to bottles shares which focused on the beers available from the regions of the teams participating in the Super Bowl. There was a good one in 2011 when the Packers (Wisconsin, New Glarus) beat the Steelers (Pennsylvania, East End).

I would be happy to try and meet up on any of those days except...2/2. (regardless of the Seahawks potential participation in said day).

Being the bartender at Tin Bucket on 2/2, I hope business wise we have lots of people who love beer and sports filling the tables and watching the TVs. It may not be the best day for us to host a bottle share. We could be completely dead, but it would be disappointing for you guys to come in with great beers and we happen to be busy with lots of crowd noise. We would be down with any other Sunday, though.

The potential dates for this have been updated to 1/31, 2/7, 2/8 and 2/9. Let me know which dates work or don't work for you and I'll try to pick the one that works best for everyone.
