At long last, I present to you an official date and all that garbage.

When: Saturday, May 26th, exact time to follow, but somewhere in the Noon-1PM range for a start time.

Where: Top Hops Beer Shop, 94 Orchard St. (at Delancey).

How to get there: F/M/J/Z to Delancey-Essex St., B/D to Grand St.

What to do: Bring some beer! Each person should aim to bring two bombers (22 oz.) or the equivalent in small bottles. The beer should be rare, limited, or otherwise hard to get. Please don't bring beer that is widely commercially available in a lot of places, even if the NY area isn't one of them. (Russian River's year-round sours are good, Deschutes' Twilight Ale probably isn't.)

The venue: Top Hops is a bottle shop and growler store. A relatively outdated BeerMenus of their growler fills but relatively up-to-date BeerMenus of their Belgian bottles is located here: http://www.beermenus.com/places/3846-top-hops-beer-shop. Top Hops does not serve food aside from snacks such as cheese plates and big pretzels. Ted (the owner) is hosting this because he's awesome (and probably to introduce his store to people who may not have been there before.) Respect the venue, and consider buying some bottles or a growler fill. (I'll try to get an up-to-date tap list a couple days before for your information.)

Sign up!: The (new) spreadsheet is located here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AjvXB9ravUGsdHZZZlV6THlUWUdDV0NIbWJJQ1Y0Tnc#gid=0

Any questions, post them up. I hope this is going to be a great Dark Lord-fueled success. If it goes well (and Ted likes us/sells beer to us), I'd love to make it a monthly thing, because I have 165 bottles of beer in boxes in my little LES apartment to share.

i am pretty sure i will be able to make this. this is in place of the stone soup thing in NY right? and with an early start that is great, i can go to that open jam improv based meet up which means i'll need to be functional by 7pm.

i have no idea what i'll be bringing but some things that come to mind are:
double black, special kay, barrel aged ommegang (abbey, adoration, three philo), plenty of jackie o's, HF, too many brewery only and limited releases. i'll probably take a peak at who is coming and will be there early and look at their wants and try to hit as many as i can. my wife will be happy...this is a great opportunity to drink down the cellar. i will encourage the LI'ers I know to come out!

you guys want to take on some sort of challenge and try to do a big vertical or something? maybe see how many eclipses we can get out? i've got a lot still from the past release and some left from the previous one. maybe we can get a DL voltron (working on the BA treatments now)...might have the full town hall BA series in time? let's get nutty!!! NY!!!

i've already said too much. if i can make it out, it'll be a surprise...i like surprises. although i can tell you no double galaxy. if i had some i wouldn't let it sit long enough to make it til the end of the month.

Ok so my plans are up in the air that weekend. May or may not be in the city. If I'm here, I've got a lot of stuff I can bring:

07/08/09/10 Abyss (would be awesome if somebody brought 06, and 11 should be an easy one to find)
    All 7 variations of 2011 50/50 Eclipse
    08/09/10/11 Ithaca Brute
Cascade sours, tons of Bruery stuff, etc

Not really sure what I'd bring. If I find out I'll be here for sure, I'll add my name to the list with details.

I should be able to make it, not 100% sure yet. Once I know for sure I will figure out what I'm bringing

Question, is there a hard stop time? I am thinking of heading to an open jam meetup at 7, if I am conscious. Are people planning to get there at start time or trickle in?

Very much looking forward to this.

I'm planning on getting there for sometime around 1pm with a buddy of mine. Thankfully I don't have anything to do afterwards but I imagine that if there isn't a hard stop time, most of us will never leave!

i'll ask ted next time i'm in there. the place isn't that big. there's a bar that accommodates about 15 stools and a refrigerator area. the idea is that fewer people are going to be there at 12/1PM on a Saturday than at 8PM, etc. i'll ask if there would be a hard stop time and when he starts getting busy - i know he said sometimes their first customer isn't around until 2.

Any plans for food? Should we maybe bring some stuff or does the place serve any?

A couple people have listed Cascade as a want. I've got a Cascade Kriek. Does that count, or are you looking for something less common?
