The code on Sucks would look like this 100 3. That would be the 100th day of 2013.
I just had bottle of hop stoopid that was 353 3 so it was the 353th day of 2013

Not sure if it is still that way, but the Europeans used to flip their days/months, so I can see where Julian dating could be more universal.

My bitch is the numbers are small, some times I can't even read them with my readers on ( when I remember to bring them ):grimacing:

I am sitting here at the bottle shop where I work, and I can't find 2012 anywhere on any of the packaging.

For the size of their breweries Lagunitas and Sierra Nevade need to step it up and put a bottled on date instead of a Julian.... I understand them because I try to learn every breweries dating system, but I see tons of questions (which are very understandable) about the codes. Lagunitas is the worst offender for putting it in that faint black ink you have to hold up to a light to see.

I highly doubt it's left over from last year. No store would even have any left. But a market that has a growler station says it's upcoming on their tap list.. Sooo stoked I'm literally gonna go fill all 5 of my growlers.

The six pack holder I have says the same thing in the description of the beer at the top on the panel where the handle is, but they are all the fresh ones. The holder also says Limited release as well, witch in my understanding is not the case.
I suspect they had a surplus of six pack holders to unload.

They put limited release instead of seasonal is my guess. And as a consumer seeing limited release makes me want it more than if it just said seasonal. Plus it also doesn't say ipa or double/imperial ipa anywhere, and it also says Sucks which when your brain registers this you think that this beer sucks. But it takes curiosity to buy this beer and once you do you know the truth.

But, according to what Lagunitas has been promoting, Sucks will be year round.
    (Or is)
