Theakston's Old Peculier , OK but have they altered it? Seems thinner and lighter than I remember it .

I've been saying that for quite some time now. It's closer to being almost black now(unlike that deep dark plum colour I remember) and it's lost most of its richness and complexity which made it so special. Ironic considering it is supposedly back home now.

    Williams chieftain - so-so
    couple of homebrews

Only had a couple of pints last week, tried a Field 41 pale ale that was one of the 'spoons american brewer at british brewer series that they are doing. Was quite nice, nothing outstanding

What might be outstanding though is a new Stone/Adnams DIPA that was brewed a couple of weeks ago so should be in spoons over the next week or two I think. keep your eyes peeled for it

"I'm not going to drink until after my exam" has turned into an evening of big stouts. Started with Rooie Dop Double Oatmeal Stout (amazingly drinkable, balanced and smooth) and now Buxton Stronge (pretty good, bit more harsh but extremely dark and tasty).

the only time I've enjoyed in recent years is when it's been from the wood, somehow a fuller flavour and texture.

Actually I started off with a bottle of Batemans Christmas Eve. Why did I have a second bottle of it, you ask? Because I'm an idiot.....

Currently on Haandbryggeriet's Kreklingol (Crowberry ale). Interesting but very yeasty - I think this bottle has been sitting around too long.

That sounds like a grand idea Besides if I have one tonight it will still leave two to age

Pint of Joker IPA on cask at lunch. was ok

Now onto Six°North Hopclassic belgian ipa
American pale ale level of bitterness, doesn't really work with the yeast, a tad buttery too. meh. The yeast is nice though, would be interested to try a normal blegian style from them

hides the 6.6% easily enough though
