SO is it still considered a 2013 Vintage ? I guess bottling date is technically what makes it right ?

As of 1230pm Chicago time Binny's South Loop had less than 1 case and the location up the street on Grand had just under 2 cases.

First time having it. Kind of disappointed. I guess it's my fault since I didn't realize how much hop flavor comes through. I love hops just not hoppy stouts

Still a case and a half on the floor at Plainfield Binnys. Don't know if there's more in back or not.

Wish I could make it to Plainfield binnys....kids got sick and an impromptu trip to daycare side tracked me. Maybe it'll be their at 830.

I just cracked one from the original run in October the other night. The hops already mellowed out nicely, even just after a few months. Tasted fuckin great.

I've had Darkness on tap last month and don't remember it being hoppy. I just brought a bottle today. But if it's hoppy now, then I'll probably wait one to three months.

I thought there was a steadfast rule about waiting a few months before drinking darkness. At least a couple years ago I remember fresh always being way over hopped.

I opened a '13 on Halloween, which was a few days after Darkness Day, and it was not very hoppy at all. Last 2 years have been much sweeter fresh, which I prefer.

So thats furthering the idea that these werent from the Oct. batch. So brand new brewed in the last month or two?

The "rareness" of Darkness seems a bit watered down with this Chicago re-release. Even the truck chasers seem to be phoning it in.
