I'll add this: it's been in vogue awhile now to wax nostalgic about the good old days, when you could get 3 cases of this, that or the other limited release, and nowadays people far less altruistic than ourselves chase trucks and make it so you can now only get 3 bottles (or no bottles, depending on your ambition/bitchin' ratio). And it's undoubtedly true - yeah, you could get more Darkness, or Abyss, or BCBS then than you can now.
But look at all the amazing beer we can get pretty easily now that we never could then! The number of quality new local breweries, and highly regarded national names, makes it pretty easy to get some really good stuff whenever you drop into the store.
Frankly, at its price, Darkness really isn't worth the hassle of trying to acquire cases*. Plenty of great beer out there.

    * Although it does trade super well.

I would love to see additional batches made throughout the year when the new facility is complete.

That would be great, as long as not a single bottle leaves the state. They owe us!

I can't believe people are complaining about having the opportunity to buy MORE Darkness. As it is, as long as you are willing to put in some of your time, you are basically guaranteed the ability to buy six bottles. You don't have to be on the interwebs the exact nanosecond tickets/allotments are released. You don't have to pay for a ticket for the opportunity to buy bottles. And even if you don't want to/can't hangout at night with a thousand other beer geeks and share beer and a good time, you still have the opportunity to get bottles at your local adult beverage emporium (albeit at a markup) days later when thousands more bottles are released.
Now another opportunity comes along, giving those who missed out on the previous occasions, and people are bitching about the fact that 100% of the bottles are not being sold exclusively in this market! You are in the wrong hobby (yes, craft beer is a hobby)! You need to find something that is available 365 days a year, can be found by making a few simple clicks on a computer and has no limits in production.

That is unless your hobby is bitching about craft beer availability, then you have found your home!

For Every bottle of darkness that leaves the state an extra case of Saga should be made to balance the beer karma

IMO why shouldn't Surly Distro to Chicago and WI they are growing and they are in business to do so im happy for them.. it would be like saying FFF should never leave Indiana or TG should never leave Iowa so what if Darkness is going there we got first shot this fall and on tap for the last 90 days

I was in line behind a guy at the liquor store yesterday where we were each picking up a bottle of Darkness. He was bitching to me and cashier about how Surly has screwed him with this second batch of Darkness and their Chicago distribution. He said the trade value of all of his Darkness is essentially gone now.

The cashier and I shared a "this guy crazy" look as he walked out.

If that is the case, I'm pissed that Surly didn't make the move two years ago when I was balls deep into trading and dropping $700 a month between purchasing and shipping. My kitchen, master bathroom, and popcorn ceilings could've exited the Reagan era and caught up with the 21st century.

Hopefully he is one of those people that chase the truck, get a couple cases, and try to sell it on Craigslist for $3M/bottle and acts like it's the rarest bottle on the planet.

What are you talking about i gots nine Sues when they first came out and i don't know who went to that fest but what's your problem, anyways, the girlfriend and her mom got me those Sues at the Casnovas but I was pissed because one of the Sues was left behind went back and the guy acted like he didn't know what i was talking about sure he just put it in his pocket and laughed when he popped it that night, but, then they threw me out and I was just trying to get my bottle that i'm pretty sure my gf's mom paid for and i'm not never going to there agian that's for sure.

I had a similar experience at Chicones a week ago. I was going to buy a single and none of that particular type had a price tag on it. She rang it up as a whole sixer. Then she said she would just give it to me for the cheapest single price ($1.50 or something). The only problem is I didn't notice till I got home that she left the price of that particular sixer on my bill. Not like she was going to believe me if I called her back.

Quite a bit Darkness was still at Zipp's at 5pm, over 5 hours after it was released there. This is a busy liquor store on everyone's radar. If you wanted some of the second batch you could get it.

Well, this seems like a legitimate concern. I certainly understand why the establishment is at fault for your misgivings. I'll probably just start going to the next closest place that carries Psuedo Sue .

Edit- looking at the other responses, it appears your trollness was lost. Please be more clear next time .
