Are we talking about during Hunahpu or after? My response was to a post about after 5pm. During the event, yes it will be packed but after 5pm I've never seen a problem with the amount of people. CCB has said the tasting room would be seperte from the event this year so a bouncer at the door while it is going on would make sense, not only to keep the numbers down but to make sure people without wristbands do not get in.

 

Last 2 years, the tasting room was not packed after 7pm when the fest ended.

A: The tasting room is going to operate differently than what we initially said in the first informational post about Hunahpu's Day. The tasting room WILL be a part of the fest and will not be selling any beers at all, but rather pouring samples just like the rest of the fest happening outside. So, the tasting room will only be open to festgoers. Also, we will have a doorman keeping a cap on the number of people who can enter the tasting room at any given time (again for safety concerns).

 

That is what I was saying about the tasting room after 5pm

The second part I had not seen yet. That is very good news that they decided to make it part of the fest. I was forseeing many problems with them keeping it seperate.

What does it matter what people are bringing to share?

 

Hay all, don't mean to mess with anything going here as is but I am coming up with 6 friends and a cooler of beer. We will try to get in with any other groups tasting there but I don't think we are organized enough to be part of the official. So if you see a group of six'ish guys with a couple coolers there around ten feel free to grab a bottle and join us!

haven't said this officially yet, but i figured i'd let you guys know first.

we're going to be cracking down hard on bottle shares before 11am. the city is going to be having a very watchful eye on us, and will not be friendly if they find anyone drinking beer before 11am. that means in line in the street, or even on our property; in fact, ESPECIALLY on our property before 11am. the parking lot is NOT wet-zoned for drinking for any other time than 11am-5pm that day.

so, if you're going to line up early, you will NOT be allowed to drink. naturally, we encourage no lining up.

 

well this is good to know, and should really dissuade anyone from trying to show up too early. Now there is no reason (aside from finding parking) to get there much before 11. I was thinking of showing up around 10, pop some bottles and hanging out, but I'll wait until 11 now.

 

If you alcoholics kids insist on drinking before 11, i am sure you can set up shop at one of the hotels or a local's house and do it there.

 

Oh, there will always be some morons (myself included) in line early. We didn't do much bottle sharing in line other than some homebrew. I think we drank mostly coffee and gatoraid in anticipation of the day to come. What's even more awesome is when people trek down to the McDonalds and over to the closest doughnut shop and hooks up people in line with munchies and hot coffee.

 

I could get there early if someone wants to give me free coffee and donuts...
