So I got a poster from Maker's Mark today alerting me that I can pick up my personal barrel bottles between October 1st and March 31st. Needless to say, i am now in the beginning stages of trip planning.

I searched for nearby pubs and it looks pretty thin. Is there anything out that way or am I basically screwed?

I'd say you're screwed. On the flipside Louisville is bout an hour away! wish I could be more help.

Like tronto said, Louisville isn't far away. You'd have to go there or Lexington for anything decent. By the way, congrats on getting your personal barrel bottles from Maker's Mark. I got mine last year, it's pretty cool to hand-dip them yourself!

I am definitely looking forward to going there. I am thinking of staying in Lexington...looks like there is a decent little beer scene there. I'll just have to make the hour (plus) trip out to Loretto as an "aside" I guess.

I can't wait to hand dip those bottles!

Come to Lexington. Things are really picking up here.

That is now the plan. Going to stay in Lexington. Get in Friday and hit some beer places...Will hit Maker's Mark on Saturday morning...then back to Lex for some more beer goodness.

    Thanks, guys!

Stop by Shenanigans Wine and Spirits for one of the best bottle/can selections in the area and then step over to Country Boy Brewing for the best draft selection in town. The good thing is both places are 2 mins apart from each other by foot.

What area of Lexington are those places in? I usually only make it there a couple times a year (usually I stop in the area when I go to Keeneland), but I'd like to go somewhere other than Liquor Barn for once.
