This doesn't help the ISOs, but wanted to clarify one thing. 2013 Deal with the Devil did win GABBF last year. This year it came in 3rd behind Alameda and Firestone, but it was the same edition (2013). The 2014 that just came out wasn't entered. Last years was. For my tastes, and I tried them side by side when bottling, this years is better. They're both nectar of the gods. The thought from the brewer in charge was that this years was a little young for competition (as it was bottled five days before competition).

It's all speculatory. Sucaba was young too. Or old for that matter. Somebody get me some Alameda!

Word is next batch is going to increase ten fold, so that's when there should be a wider judging of this beer of grandeur. Don't doubt it's tasty as "hell" :sunglasses:, or as good as any other world class barleywine but to see if it really stands apart we will just have to wait a bit longer.

Does anyone know how much this is going for resale?

Dang, that's about 1.25 cases per state.

Not all states will see them, so should be little higher for those that do. Not nearly enough still.

According to seekabrew they only distribute to 13 of the lower 48 (+DC). Is it true that Washington doesn't get Anchorage?

Anchorage is distributed by Shelton which just came back to WA. So theoretically, WA state should get some (hopefully!)

Washington gets anchorage. We had a bit of a gap last year, but they're back.

Heard a keg of it will be pouring at Hard liver fest in Washington as well. I got 2 bottles thanks to a very very generous BA. And hoping the Bay Area will receive some!!!

    from the Anchorage Facebook page:

"For all you Deal with the Devil Freaks out there, all of the beer that was released in Anchorage has been sold:slight_frown: There are 63 cases that are heading south in about 3 weeks. Not sure where they will end up yet. We will be sending a keg down for the Hard Liver fest in Seattle. Some good news is that we are working on possibly brewing 100 bbls of this beer so more can enjoy it. There are a lot of logistics in pulling this off with such a big beer, so stay tuned:slight_smile:"

So close and yet so far... I know a store in Alaska that had 10 bottles this morning, not sure what they are down to at this point, but she's holding 2 bottles for me. And my buddy has a sister that lives in the city where this store is, but she doesn't feel comfortable shipping beer!!!!! argh!!!!!!
