Anyone remember when Discount Liquor Waukesha gets their Beer Capital deliveries? I thought it was Tues and Thurs, if so, I may have to make a stop after work!

I agree with everything you said about Milwaukee Brewing...I guess I need to quit my job and start brewing.

I think Milwaukee liquor stores should install little chimneys on their roofs, and each day we don't get Hopslam, they should send up black smoke, and when it finally arrives, there will be white smoke.

Seriously though, a guy at Discount Waukesha told me yesterday that it would either be Friday or Monday, he wasn't sure which. Sounds like Monday it is.

There are 5 or 6 distributors in Milwaukee: Beechwood (aka L Knife and Sons and/or Great Brewers) (Bud) and Beer Capitol (MillerCoors) are the two big ones. The Beer Capitol Website is pretty clear about who they distribute. You can assume most ofther craft beers are Beechwood, but definitely not all of them.

River City is another one, but in the Milwaukee Metro, the only distribute a few national craft brands and imports (they also distribute Bud, New Glarus, and others in the geographic area). I know they distribute Bockor, St. Bernardus, etc. Their website is pretty good.

CJW is in Racine, but I believe they get all their craft stuff from Beer Capitol (sort of a master distributor for WI).

I forget the other Milwaukee distributors, but they are all small - smaller than River City I believe.

There are actually only two beer distributors in Milwaukee County: beechwood and beer cap. There used to be four, but when coors and miller merged Beloit and Dominick's closed because they lost Coors. There are other beverage distributors in Milwaukee county but they don't really distribute beer. The problem is, both distributors are in over their collective heads. They could give two shits about Hopslam, it's just another beer that pays the bills.

Beer capital- lakefront, bells, sierra nevada, tyranena, ale asylum, Three Floyds. Pretty much it for craft breweries that are big. (soon to be WI brewery (had samples of all their beers, they were terrible.....)
Beechwood- Founders, MKE, Lagunitas, New Glarus, New Belgium, Big Sky, Ommegang, Oskar Blues, Central Waters, and random more craft brews and a lot of 'import breweries' Stella, Guiness, Becks, all of that non-sense. (Run the 'Bomber' beer scene)
River City- a lot of smaller local brews like Grays, St. Francis and so on, hopping frog, Tall Grass, import brews (usually singles/bombers) and other random out of state random brewers that arent that big
Jaws- went out of business, all I remember was Black Boss
Johnson Brothers- Random Import brews (usually bombers or singles), and other random small breweries in the us, cant think off the top of my head.
Wirtz- is thinking about getting into beer I hear at the store.

This is just what I can think off the top of my head after sampling a lot of brews tonight. Beechwood definitely has the upper hand in craft beer selection though without a doubt.

Beer Capital- Futhermore (I think) , Angry Orchard, StrongBow, Point, Jp's, Mike's Hard
River City- Oso's, Bear Republic, Mad River, Sixpoint, Pearl St. Brewery
Johnson Brothers- Wolf 7 beer (dont know company), Day of the Dead, some cider in 'red bull can size' but doesnt make them anymore. (they are trying harder to get into beer scene)
Beechwood- Lefthand, Sprecher Beer and Soda, Woodchuck, Smirnoff Ice, Magners, Monster Energy Drink

These may not be 100%, just off top of my head.
Sorry, these came to mind after that last post. Sorry for being off topic. My bad.

Milwaukee can now leap for joy - HOPSLAM has arrived at Ray's Wine & Spirits in Wauwatosa - $69.99 a case - run, don't walk to get some. The bottle date is 1/16/14

It might be 50 degrees below zero here, but my heart & taste buds will be warmed up later this evening!

Awesome news on that bottle date, was hoping it wasn't going to be one of the first bottlings.
