Hey was the stout on top? I was just trying to look up some B&T stuff online and everything is guinness related so the stout's always on top. Now's I'm scared to screw it up since I figured the stout would get poured first. Any suggestions?

I actually take that back it wasn't Black & Tan style it was mixed together as an Imperial Black IPA

Closest I got was an empty box at the liquor store. No dice for me but I did pick up some Palate Wrecker. Will have to do for this year.

A little bird landed on my shoulder this morning and told me that it will be arriving at the distributor next week and should first see shelves on 2/3 in what I'm told is very, very limited supply. Price point is supposed to be $19.99/6 pack.

Try Speedway stout and hopslam, I love fresh hopslam but after a couple weeks I like to start mixing it.

    I call it SpeedSlam.

It mixes like an imperial black IPA, and it's awesome.

Hopslam is a beer I'd written off. I expected to never get a chance to try, since Bell's doesn't distribute out here and I never happen to be in Chicago at the right time.

But, my in-laws (who don't give a shit about beer, but happen to be crazy shoppers) managed to track down a couple sixers for me. They'll fly here in a couple weeks for my daughter's third birthday...and I'll get to try Hopslam.

I'll tell you, I'm really excited.

I picked up a 6 pack bottled on 1/11. I drank the first two one night and thought it was really good but maybe not as good as the Sucks that's also in my fridge. I had my third bottle a few days later and it absolutely stunned me. It was spectacular. Why is that? They were nearly different experiences.

Oh, a couple of weeks from now? Don't bother, the hops will have faded by then. Just kidding!

Your palate. So many things can influence it & cause subtle (or more noticeable) differences every time you drink one

Dude it is scary how much I agree with you. I have recently gotten my gf into IPAs and craft beer (I know spec-fucking-tacular amirite?) and we agreed Sucks just blew it away this year. But then, a couple days later, which was Wednesday, it blew my mind and I ended up drinkin like 4 of em lol. Yeah that's hilarious man I am right there with you. Especially because I don't care what people say, I adamantly believe IPAs are only good fresh. I respect everyone's opinion but mine is that most IPAs (especially singles) are a drain pour after a month. Some can last maybe 5-6 weeks max. Headhunter within a week of it being bottled is my favorite IPA but after 3-4 weeks it's so damn bitter that it's undrinkable IMO. So it's weird that Hopslam seemed to taste better a few days later. Probably just all in my head!

I know everyone will thread bully me but I swear you guys I have no idea how Hopslam held up after 6 months or better yet a year! Did you guys cellar it or something? I was under the impression it has to be refrigerated and I tried it after 6 months, 9 months, then a year and it got worse and worse. I kept it refrigerated the whole time, after a year it tasted like a wine attacking an IPA in a death match. Sorry few beers deep
