My favorite night cap, Doubly Down. Pure bliss.

Yeah man, I always enjoy both too. Single bottle limits and very limited supply when the do drop around these parts so they are pretty hard to come by, but worth it.

When I get home from work, two first time tastings. Nugget nectar and sucks. Can't wait to get home!

I accidentally discovered that my shitty-beer drinking friends LOVED this stuff when they tasted it. Two of them have asked me to pick up cases for them, and a third is on the fence (he drinks Natty Light)! I think it's a "gateway beer". Outstanding beer and a great value.

Seriously though, is this worth trying? I've stared it down 1 or 2 maybe 3 times and don't pull the trigger. Really curious about it; but I am afraid it will be cloyingly sweet.

I wasn't sure how I'd like this beer, even though I'm a big fan of their hefeweizen - and, wow - whatta great beer - you'd have to be dead not to dig it.

I would never deter someone from trying a new beer (well, maybe a few :stuck_out_tongue:)...
So while I'll say that there is nothing wrong with this beer, at the same time, if you never have it, it's not like you missed out on the new King Henry or something.
It is sweet (but I didn't find it cloying - and I am not a sweet-tooth person) - more so than dry or bittersweet or such, and you really can taste the doughnut - so if that's not up your alley, ignore it with no regrets. I personally wouldn't go back to it, but I'm certainly enjoying drinking it right now.

    Cheers!

Yeah, it's cold and miserable outside. But I've got this beauty, a six of Hopslam chilling, and—my beer guy says Dirt Wolf & Hop Ranch will both be on the shelf next week. Wisconsin ain't so bad.
