My first beer back in the US (Salt Lake City, to be exact). It is unseasonably sunny and warm here in the high desert climate of Salt Lake City at this time of year, about 40 during the day and about 20 at night. A local porter from Park City, Utah. This really fits the climate right now. It is more like an English style porter, IMO. It tastes good!

I liked it so much I had another one, but this time I made a sandwich to go along with it. There's nothing like brown bread and dark brown/almost black beer. Pairs well together. Cheers to US beer! It feels good to be home.

Boy, Founders really pumps them out - and I'll totally agree with you on the price-point across the boards - Founders gets away with it because they're Founders, but all the Backstage Beers I've had were more pricey than I liked.

Some Franziskaner Weissbier, then a Well's Sticky Toffee Pudding Ale. It was an impulse purchase. When I got home I looked up some reviews. I don't know much about brown ales, so I hope to be uneducated enough to enjoy it.

I paid $12 for it. It's wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. Sweet Repute is $22 and it's still sitting on the shelves.

I was going to try my hand at a Storm King, which I just bought today for the first time, but I forgot to put any in the fridge. Not cold, not cellar temp; room temp. I'll pass for now, and come back to it another time; not like it's going to go bad!

Instead, I finally will join in on the canned beer celebration with one of my personal every-day-beer faves:

Anyone else never notice this on the can? Has that always been there??? Awesome!

Past its peak (best before date, 24 Feb), but certainly still a good beer (although much maltier than Resin is supposed to be). A testament to good craftsmanship: a DIPA you don't have to drink within three weeks.

Exploring a new (to me) band (as discussed):

Reminds me a lot of a ton of late '90s ambient bands in the goth/metal/earth/ethereal scene, actually. I feel that in the '80s and '90s, goth bands borrowed a lot - a lot - from metal, especially thematically and visually. Come Type O Negative, and the expansion of doom metal, I think the paradigm has been reversed: metal bands seem to be borrowing a lot from the goth genre(s). Just an observation (and opinion). (Pro tip: never tell a goth that his/her entire genre wouldn't exist without Black Sabbath. They often resent heavy metal's influence. ).

If tasteful pics of your beer is called "beer ****", then a drain pour is "Bondage"?
