It's this and Sucaba, and everything else for me.
And the 12oz format is a plus.

This (Hopslam) and Bell's in general)) is supposed to make its way down to Long Island in the next few weeks - really looking forward to it!

Agalloch is a band that never made the same album twice, yet each is a masterpiece...genius IMO.

After the Hopslam and the Sucks this is appropriate, I think.

Good call, great band, and probably overlooked too often. I put them solidly in the gothic rock genre, which is probably where Bauhaus really belongs. I totally get goth's roots in punk, but once you start combining all the influences (gothic rock, Bowie, Sabbath, Depeche Mode FFS), it becomes a cop out instead of an homage.

You can always find the headbanger at a goth club: he's the dude with un-dyed long hair, and his version of dancing involves less arrhythmic swaying and more kicking. :grinning:

Somehow this is the first time I'm getting around to finally having a WWS, and all I can say is DAMN...

Now I get why these always sell out so quick, even at $9 a bottle. Just crazy depth on this thing, a plethora of flavors happening... Slightly acidic dark fruits, fresh roasted espresso, bittersweet chocolate, molasses, brown sugar, lots of roasted malt, slight smoke, on and on. And surprisingly drinkable for the 18%ish abv. A little hot, but I think it actually enhances this beer, it's like sipping on a fine bourbon. Gotta go get some more of this this weekend!
    Cheers

    1. I've only had this beer once and I remember it being pretty good.

    2. You just made me grab Pierced From Within off of the shelf and show Friday night what is up!

What could be better than spending a Friday evening at your local beer store? Finding Hopslam on tap at your local beer store. I've had it for many years from the bottle but this was my first time on tap. Wow. I know purists will say it's already too old since I wasn't there the moment the keg was tapped, AND that keg had to take the trip around the Lake Erie shore from Michigan to Cleveland... those purists can go fuck themselves.

What could be even better than drinking Hopslam on tap at your local beer store? Meeting fellow local beer enthusiasts you've never met before, all enjoying fresh, delicious Hopslam together. Even better than that? One of them gets creative and creates a "HuitSlam" ... equal parts 5 Rabbits Huitzi and Bell's Hopslam. A round of this new delicious mix follows for everyone present, and holy shit was it good.
I hope everyone has an amazing weekend, mine was certainly off to an unexpected but fantastic start!
