Yeah I really wasn't impressed. Felt like it had no flavour lingering in the mouth after the swallow, and generally lacked depth despite the hefty abv and luscious mouthfeel. Good but I'm glad I didn't pay £3.99 or whatever it was when first released in the local beer shops.

Good thing this is a beer forum or that second sentence would look properly dodgy...

Went to the pub earlier for some after-work refreshment. The Golden Fleece and the Hop were visited - the latter in particular had a good range of ales on tap. The best was probably Barnsley's Gorlovka....

Now having a bottle of Brewdog's My Name is Sonja.

Got a few days off so I think I might just push the boat out a bit. It's been a while since I had more than the odd bottle. Think I might start with that Great Divide bottle at the back of the cupboard.

It would appear that my 'Its Burns night, what are you drinking?' thread has been pulled by the moderators. What total fucking bullshit. I guess advocating Scottish beer on Burns night just somehow doesn't fit in with the ethos here. Probably just a bit too controversial. Respect Beer indeed.

The Ola Dubh 1991 I had a few minutes ago was just gorgeous. Easily the best bottled Ola Dubh ever produced.

I'm currently drinking Williams Bros' Chieftain, though I have to confess I had tea with my haggis supper....

Earlier in the day I went into a charity shop and came out with a half-yard of ale glass in a wooden stand. I reckon this will enhance my future beer drinking no end :grinning:

I've never had a yard of ale. Someday I'll have to correct that, but in the meantime a half-yard will have to do....

Right - time to give my tastebuds the punishment they deserve. Mikkeller's I Beat YoU in my glass

Got hold of some Founders Breakfast Stout, saving it for my mates birthday this weekend. Will hopefully pick up some Backwoods Bastard if they any left, and a few other things too.

A guy from another forum was kind enough to get me some stuff from The Kernel which he says he'll send over, I'm hoping more for their stout's but I'd be interested to try their IPAs too, I hear they are very good.

They are normally the best you can get in the country. Stouts I found to be a bit meh, comparatively so.
